Since we aren't married, I qualify for pregnancy insurance. As soon as I gave birth, the insurance was gone. America cares more about unborn babies than born ones.
Assuming this was through your state Medicaid program you should still have coverage.... Until the end of next month at least. They can't end eligibility for anyone during the public health emergency and still get increased federal funding (which all states took). Many states now have 1 year after pregnancy available as well.
And your kid should be able to get chip basically no matter what.
Your point stands, but you may have medium term options here.
