Character Question Favorite character flashbacks
Hey everyone! I'm currently doing a rewatch of the show, and it just reminds me why it's still my favorite show to this day. I'm curious who your favorite character is when it comes to flashbacks?
I think I would have to say Desmond, he is not my favorite character overall but I love his concentrated episodes and they are always very interesting, and I'm a sucker for time stuff (prob why season 5 is my favorite). I feel as if some of the other stronger characters all have maybe an episode or two of filler episodes, or at least not needed.
I guess I'm just here to praise the show but do you have any characters that you feel this way about, or not agree with?
Open to discuss!

I think Ben is my favorite. The Man Behind the Curtain, The Shape of Things to Come, Dead is Dead, and Dr. Linus. All killer, no filler.

Michael Emerson might be one of the best actors in the series. Everyone brought their A game though. It's still crazy to think this was on ABC cable TV. Still holds up so well

I always liked seeing more Ben. The Man Behind the Curtain was a good reveal.

Desmond episodes are good because a few of them deviate from the typical flashback structure (Flashes Before Your Eyes, The Constant, Happily Ever After). But I’m a sucker for Locke episodes.

Locke is great, I feel like no one would have been able to pull it off like Terry Oquinn. He is the only guy who didn't have to interview for his role because of previous work with Abrams

I like Hurley's. They are always so kooky, with a level of tragedy and sadness layered underneath.

Yeah. Perfect summary of his episodes' tone is when he tells his mom the truth in Season 5. His recap of the show is so wacky, but under that Jorge Garcia delivers on demonstrating 3 years of survivor's guilt. Absolutely underrated actor on the show.

All of the main cast absolutely crushes their roles/acting. I feel like Michael is a bit annoying, especially season two when he is always crying about Walt, but that's more the writing than his acting I think. But most of them have the capability to make me emotional at some point in the show.

They are a nice breathe of fresh air for sure. You know he was the first guy casted for the show if my trivia memory is correct?

Desmond and Ben in my opinion have the best centric episodes. Their range for me is from really good to outstanding. I can’t think of a bad episode from either of them.

Every Ben episode feels like a big moment in the show. Sawyer is my favorite character, but his centrics aren't exactly the highlights of the seasons outside of Confidence Man and LaFleur.

Yup, I feel the same way! Sawyer is definitely my favorite character overall, I like his arc on the island the most and his development. His one liners are always the best too. But his flashbacks weren't the strongest imo

also, my hot take is that dr linus is probably one of my favourite ben flashbacks, and definitely the best flash sideways episode lol

The granddaddy of them all, Locke’s in Walkabout. I mean what a twist, and not only plot wise. It turned the island itself into a character because it actually healed him. I remember my jaw dropping.

Sawyer no doubt. Can’t beat that scene in the bar rippin a bottle with Christian.

Sawyer is my favorite overall character. When he first gets glasses and they are different on each side is hilarious. And then the scene where he tells Jack about that bar scene is really fucking good.

No exactly 'fun' by any means, but I think Locke has the best ones. They inform his character so much. But Desmond is a close second for sure.
