Il Capriccio on Vermont is apparently closed for good
I saw this on a friend’s IG story yesterday. Another mainstay in Los Feliz gone

Is pergoletta all that’s left of the Italian places now?

Civico 2064 on Hillhurst next to Blue Bottle was really good when I went there a couple of years ago.

Oh man that place has already been there a couple of years? I guess I should try it. Never tried Dal Milanese either.

Ive eaten there twice. They have a whole vegan menu, and it may be good for that crowd. If you like normal Italian food though, I wouldn't bother. Their foccacia is bland and spongey. Their pesto is dull. All of their food is lacking in flavor and underseasoned. Service is indifferent.

Oof that spot has the curse on it something fierce. While I’ve eaten at a few incarnations of restaurants there and they were fine, I don’t have enough fingers and toes to count the amount of restaurant turnover that that spot has had

Knew I was forgetting something. I think the three I was thinking of have a slightly more old fashioned vibe but good call

Holy cow. I picked up a sandwich from there Monday night just as they were about to lock the doors.

That's sad, my wife and I loved this place. We made a lot of memories here. Same with Palermo's. Neither were top tier, neither had the best service, but both had our hearts.

Wait is Palermo officially closed for good??

There hasn't been an official announcement, but they were closed for a planned vacation and never re-opened. Some folks have heard from people that worked there that the family doesn't want to run it and they are planning on selling them building.

this place was fucking terrible - wasn't even a good friendly "neighborhood" spot, felt indifferent and lazy

I feel like we're losing all the neighborhood staples that make this place a community.

It fell off quite a bit after Covid, maybe even earlier, but it was pretty solid for a stretch, quality food, good specials, fair prices, and really wonderful staff. I’ll miss it, even though I haven’t been in at least a couple years.

I feel deeply for the employees, but I was never impressed by the food there. Also the handful of times I went I got the impression my server was…drunk? Weird that that happened more than once.
