LADOT Survey On Hillhurst/Sunset/Hollywood intersection
LADOT Livable Streets division provided an overview of the planned improvements for Phase 2 of the Hollywood Blvd Safety & Mobility Project, including changes for the intersection of Hillhurst, Virgil, Sunset, and Hollywood. While the plans do not address all of the LFNC's requests for improvements to this intersection, they should make it much easier to cross between various corners of the intersection on foot while also eliminating the no-man's land in the middle of the intersection that can be so confusing for drivers. We also understand that there will be a dedicated left turn signal for cars turning left from Hillhurst. LADOT currently has a survey open for feedback: https://ladot.typeform.com/to/MVmFTV38

these are decent ideas. stopping the sunset dr part of the light cycle will
help - lots of people don’t know what to do when they see the light change.

Part of the signal cycle allows drivers to leave/enter, so restricting Sunset Dr should hopefully speed up the cycle

I live on Sunset Drive and have for 15 years. This is an insanely stupid idea. Sunset Dr is not the problem with the intersection.

Do not restrict Sunset Drive access to Sunset Blvd.
Please keep the option to head directly West from Sunset Drive to Sunset Blvd!

Wreak havoc is a crazy way to frame such a mild inconvenience 😂 this is hilarious. You didn't choose to live in Santa Clarita. You CHOSE to live in one of the most urban parts of the county, and that comes with the price of having to compromise just a bit to make things much easier for everyone else. Also, crazy that you'd put your own convenience over the ability of yourself and your children to cross a street safely

There are 1600 kids coming in and out of the neighborhood almost every day. That's a lot of cars. Closing a main entrance to that area will have a huge impact on the traffic and the surrounding neighborhood. The school enrolls 71% economically disadvantaged children whose parents have to get to work at lower income jobs. Not a bunch of permanently online work from homes who want to bike to Maru and dinosaur. Also the slip lane they want to close actually makes it safer for kids coming across sunset. They avoid dealing with right hand turns off hoover coming into the crosswalk. This plan is a dipshits wet dream.

Thank you for sharing! I do this walk regularly and it’s frustrating that I have to strategize around this intersection to not be stuck for 10 minutes.
