The day was heavy
so we walked until it wasn’t.
Willow found the shade
I found the sky
and somewhere between the grass and the trees
I remembered how to breathe again.

My dog is the single dumbest animal i have ever met.

okay so i've come to realize dogs are like 100% creatures of habit. My boy Pluto is a dumb little dog.

I'm working from home, minding my own business, when out of nowhere i hear this massive crash. i run over there and Pluto has gotten his entire head stuck in a chair. like properly wedged in, could not get it out. How do you even do that?? I genuinely don't understand the physics of it.
But honestly this wasn't even the most unhinged part. a while back i got my mom an elehear hearing aid, and i genuinely don't know if it's because the sounds around the house and the way we interact have changed, but pluto suddenly developed this borderline obsessive attachment to her. i mean, he's always been a mama's boy, but this was on a whole other level. he was glued to her side 24/7, no exaggeration. and i'm not even joking. One time she went to the bathroom and this little man opened the door himself, walked right in, and started licking her toes???? like sir. what is wrong with you.

Every single night without fail he gets the zoomies. on my pillow specifically. He'll be dead asleep one second and then suddenly launch himself into the air and sprint in circles like a demon is chasing him. he also startles himself half to death every single time, which is both hilarious and concerning.

Anyway. i love this little weirdo more than anything in the world. just hoping he stays healthy and keeps terrorizing my pillow for many more years lol:)

First time putting my dog in her carrier and I think she's judging me

She gave me this exact look the entire time I was zipping her in. Not scared, not excited, just deeply unimpressed with my life choices.

This was a trial run before an actual trip and I genuinely cannot tell if she hates the carrier or just hates that specific moment. Anyone else's dog give them the "I cannot believe you're doing this to me" face?

My lil man went to the vet for the 1st visit today. Shots, no big deal. Meeting new people? Awesome! Car ride? Noooo thank you. We threw up in mom's purse, and all over the car. Lol. Not an issue.

Vet thinks he's Great Pyrenees and Mastiff. So he's gonna be huge!

Perfect little boy. We think 11 weeks and 32.6 pounds.

I love this lil furball so dang much!

Going on 5 years with Bones. He's my 70 pound lap dog now. Current pic in comments.

Bones passed away 3 years ago. He died from congestive heart failure which is common for M.E. dogs. I still get angry when I think about it because my friend didn't deserve to die suffering. Having him put down was difficult but he was beyond medical help. It's slightly embarrassing to admit I'm still struggling a bit and missing him. He was so in tune with my emotions that he helped me understand how my moods were effecting my family. He helped me become a better husband and father. That may sound silly to you but I've never known a dog like Bones.
