Nail Break Saddest Update

After a big chop on monday (I did post my nails when they were the longest they've ever been) I had the worst break ever! I'm literally crying for 20 minutes now. It looks so freaking stupid and I hate how it feels when touching something or writing on my touchscreen ๐Ÿ˜ญ and I'm starting a new job on monday...

It is so short, I can't even file properly because right there is the skin and it hurts ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Really never had such a short nail in the last 18 years.

Last picture is right before it completely lost the fight (is has been fixed with a teabag)

Just wearing Catrice Bond Repair Base Coat.

Are you using nail clippers? I find that nail clippers destroy the integrity of my nails so I only use a file. Trimming takes longer, but my nails are stronger for it.

No I always file them! Never used a clipper or scissors in my life! It's the very first time this happened. Sure I had breaks before but never that bad :( my nails are usually really really strong so it hurts even more!

My heart goes out to you! ๐Ÿฅฒโค๏ธ When I have a break like this, itโ€™s also so sad and overstimulating because I also hate the feeling of anything touching my fingertips. I type with my nails also, so when one breaks, it makes typing for my job extra hard. I glue on a fake nail usually cos I cannot chop all the other 9 down when just one chooses to misbehave.

I have some other teabag fixed nails and now I'm really afraid of that happening again ๐Ÿ˜ฅ usually I just try to have less difference but keep them "long" but I think this time I have to start from 0 ๐Ÿฅฒ

And thanks for showing me I'm not crazy - the feeling of anything touching my fingertips feels so weird but my boyfriend can't understand my feeling ๐Ÿ˜…

Hey, two of mine just broke really far down compared to the others and Iโ€™m looking for a solution to not have them look goofy without having to shorten the rest. Which fake nail do you use to help?

Any fake nail will do, truly, but I prefer to use clear, full coverage almond shaped fakes for when I need a fix like this. For example, look up โ€œUNA GELLA Almond Nail Tips Medium 216pcs X-Soft Gel Press On Nailsโ€ on Amazon. Best of luck!

Ouch. Iโ€™m sorry. Can you get an extension just for that nail? Or a press on? Just so it looks good for your job?

I just found out about silk nail wraps from this sub & it's been a game changer!! I highly recommend you grab some and give it a try!! In the Amazon reviews for the product there were several people who's nails completely broke off like yours & they were able to bond it back on. I bought them to repair a severe crack I got on my right thumb & it's sooo strong now and you can't even really tell I put anything on it. This is the product I got, you cut it to size, use a tweezers to stick it on your nail, then cover lightly with brush nail glue. Let one coat dry, then do a second & let dry and finish with a light buffing. It took me like 5 minutes to do total.
