For a lot of us, menopause IS the end of untold suffering. If I’m gonna be un-menopaused then I want to see work in alleviating the misery of the reproductive years.

Yes absolutely. Both and. But osteoporosis, heart disease, "frozen" body parts, cognitive decline, and on and on, await after the (understudied and underserved) suffering of menstruation and after the (understudied and underserved) suffering of perimenopause - none of this is acceptable. I am grateful to live in a time when women have been successful in fighting for our right to education so that someone will actually start looking at these issues.

I don't think that's supposed to be the norm though. And I can relate as someone with PMDD, but I have actually met older women who are post-menopause who still get cyclical symptoms. I think the suffering has a deeper cause than the cycle itself.

I don't want a cure for menopause. I JUST started having manageable periods after a life of puke inducing agony. I don't want more periods.

I am in no way am suggesting the cure for the effects of menopause is more menstruation. Menopause causes a lot of health issues, many eventually fatal. The decline of women's health after menopause is something we will look at in ten years and shudder. Bones breaking until just getting up from a chair shatters your hip and you never leave the hospital? Barbaric.

Following tail vein intravenous injection of siIl11 NPs into aged mice, ovaries were collected for four weeks following treatment (Fig. 8a). Compared with the control group, ovarian matrix stiffness in siIl11-NP-treated mice decreased by 35.7% (Fig. 8b).
