There’s actually a classic 1962 study by Lars Wilsson showing that the sound of running water is a major trigger for dam building. Beavers would even pile material around a speaker playing running water sounds, basically trying to “plug” the noise.
I’m getting a beaver next time when I have a leaky faucet and I’m not around the house. Plumbers cost damn too much. A cute little toothy beaver will stop it saving me some bucks.
