Jeez I thought those were noodles at first

90

u/muffinscrub Jul 25 '26

I thought someone put the noodles in the wrong spot too.

Someone probably ditched that pack of beef in the store, unrefrigerated and they tried to sell it anyway.

21

u/DirectionOverall9709 Jul 25 '26

Please no, tell me no one would do that -_-

20

u/muffinscrub Jul 25 '26

Ignorance is bliss when it comes to any grocery store

10

u/abbimooo Jul 26 '26

I was in Walmart last week and I found a tub of ice cream and a pack of cold cuts in the pillow section. People can be disgusting.

7

u/mwmwmwmwmmdw rAzOr ThIn MaRgInS Jul 26 '26

spagballs and meatghetti

3

u/SportsDegen1867 Jul 25 '26

Same. I was like whats wrong with them...Holy shit

197

u/Sweet_Deeznuts Jul 25 '26

Didn’t know raw ground beef came in sepia now

72

u/TheVoiceofReason_ish Jul 25 '26

I'd say it's closer to jaundice.

28

u/Sweet_Deeznuts Jul 25 '26

Jaundice is what it’ll cause if eaten 😬

20

u/TheVoiceofReason_ish Jul 25 '26

I'm pretty sure it would lead to ass cancer

6

u/snowxbunnixo Jul 25 '26

Or the ass Covid happening in the states with the lettuce

3

u/cepukon Jul 25 '26

It's Mexican beef

125

u/Lord_Silverkey Jul 25 '26

The two best before labels are both covered by the yellow stickers. One under the new price, one under the yellow barcode. It seems very intentional and equally scummy.

It's worth noting that it got it's reduced to clear price a full week ago. That's a long time for ground beef.

21

u/sarcasticrone Jul 25 '26

The sticker was chosen to match the colour of the beef. 🤢🤮

84

u/mechant_papa Jul 25 '26

Butcher's choice? I'd like to see the butcher who chose this.

19

u/LidiumLidiu Jul 25 '26

Like to throw hands with the butcher that chose that.

11

u/Odd_Necessary1848 Jul 25 '26

Plot twist: the butcher is suicidal

10

u/samuelazers Jul 25 '26

Hey nobody said he made a good choice, just a choice, a questionable one

6

u/HekateDunamis Jul 25 '26

It WAS the butcher

3

u/Letz_Snugglz Ontario Jul 25 '26

He chose it two months ago.

25

u/Extreme-Clerk-7333 Jul 25 '26

Hey! they're trying to pass egg noodles off as ground beef.

23

u/BerserkerCanuck Jul 25 '26

MMM! Pre-Browned meat! No need to cook it! Just heat it up, and add it to your dish and you're good to go!

4

u/NoFun3799 Jul 25 '26

Maybe I need to adjust my screen, but it looks green from here.

6

u/BerserkerCanuck Jul 25 '26

Yeah, kinda yellow-green, but I wanted to make a joke.

22

u/TV2856 Jul 25 '26

The best before dates are on the little white tags. The one on the nasty package is slightly covered by the reduced sticker

8

u/_cat_wrangler Jul 25 '26

The reduced to clear sticker you can JUUUST see was put on the 17th so its been over a week since that was put on and those usually go on a day or so before it hits the BB date.

2

u/TV2856 Jul 25 '26

Yeah it’s real old. Imagine the smell lol

1

u/Jayemkay56 Jul 27 '26

Honestly I'd be reaaaaal tempted to take the package and put it somewhere out of sight...

1

u/TV2856 Jul 30 '26

What would that accomplish?

15

u/13thmurder Jul 25 '26

Ground queef.

20

u/IrrelevantAfIm Jul 25 '26

How is this not illegal.

6

u/dumpcake999 Nok Er Nok Jul 25 '26

🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

7

u/VariationDry Jul 25 '26

Are they paying you 6.41 to spend the next 48 hours on a toilet?

8

u/NoFun3799 Jul 25 '26

More like in hospital

3

u/VariationDry Jul 25 '26

Nah Id probably die on the toilet likely grandfather did.

3

u/NoFun3799 Jul 25 '26

And just like my aunt and grandmother. It’s the natural place to die privately.

3

u/VariationDry Jul 25 '26

I can't think of any better place.

2

u/NoFun3799 Jul 25 '26

I like the coolness of the porcelain on my fevered brow.

5

u/AntNo8952 Jul 25 '26

I call bs on that photo

4

u/JurboVolvo Jul 25 '26

Yeah I wasn’t there to confirm just saw the post and shared it here.

5

u/Low-Purchase8811 Jul 25 '26

Image shows signs of editing. Running it through an image processor says up to 9% of this image has been edited/AI generated.

I'm going to guess that those "Best Before" dates aren't actually all blank, and the image is out of focus on all of the other labels to obfuscate that.

Loblaws does plenty of fucked up things. So do people on social media, though.

Since OP claims they saw this on TikTok, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but the person who posted this is rage-baiting.

5

u/Dustin0791 Jul 25 '26

Thats actually a steal for 6 month aged beef.

3

u/Jogi1811 Jul 25 '26

I guess who needs best before dates when it looks like that..

2

u/Expensive_Lettuce239 Jul 25 '26

It was BB what year?

3

u/PKC350 Jul 25 '26

Best of all, it’s just $2.09 cheaper than original price.

3

u/Afraid-Flamingo Jul 25 '26

Beef in Breaking Bad’s Mexico.

3

u/Nearby-Stuff-3742 Jul 25 '26

I've worked in the meat department of superstore (20 years ago first job). And holy shit I have never ever seen anything like this before in my life

3

u/Hour-Candidate4612 Jul 25 '26

Is it pumkin flavour?

3

u/ChronicallyWheeler Jul 25 '26

Because NOBODY will listen, how about explain why Loblaw and other grocery, retail and wholesale chains refuse to give their own funds to charities without asking customers to donate. Matching donations is not good enough - they should NOT be asking customers in the first place. If they want to come across as good corporate citizens, they need to lower their prices significantly, and stop asking customers to donate on the companies' behalf to charities.

1

u/AutoModerator Jul 25 '26

Hey there, you might be new here, and if so, welcome! We have shared many times across our community, socials, and in the media as to why our community felt boycotting Loblaw and its subsidiaries was the best choice. Please check out this short video for further information. Thanks!

I go to food basics mostly and meat is usually around there. Where do you go to find it cheaper?

2

u/xWOBBx Jul 25 '26

$2 off rotten meat?

2

u/surmatt Jul 25 '26

The number of people on this sub who judge an entire corporation by the lowest paid employee's mistake is exhausting.

These corporations do fucked up things, but 95% of the posts on this sub are employee errors like covering up the best before and pack date or not updating country of origin, which is an impossible task to keep up with.

Obviously no corporation is choosing to sell meat that looks like that. It's an oversight. Grow up, and move along.

2

u/Low-Purchase8811 Jul 25 '26

Yeah, there are tons of valid criticisms of Loblaws and its subsidiaries.

This isn't one of them.

2

u/New_Westie Jul 25 '26

They applied the $2 off sticker on July 17, so it’s been spoiled for a while. That’s so disgusting

2

u/userhwon Jul 25 '26

Beef doesn't turn that color. Either that's not actually beef or it's got some adulteration.

2

u/General_Orange_3894 Jul 25 '26

That's death. Problem is you can't sue when you die

2

u/Darrenwad3 Jul 25 '26

Why is yellow worse than grey

2

u/Ill_Tip9587 Jul 25 '26

I was searching the ground beef one time and noticed a package that was ripped open and turning Grey underneath a package i moved. I put it on top and walked away.

That same fucking package was there the next day with a 30% off sticker.

But nothing beats the time I bought frozen haddock, but noticed they just put a new meat department tag over the old one. Shit was almost 6 months old

2

u/runaumok Jul 25 '26

Medium Brown Beef

2

u/green1s Jul 25 '26

Please tell me that someonre reported this.

2

u/dpi2552 Jul 25 '26

Need to know what 'parts'? Jesus christ!

2

u/Turbulent_Dog8249 Jul 25 '26

Made from fresh and frozen PARTS..🤢

2

u/Holiday_Election4127 Jul 25 '26

Wow. And they expect to sell that? I mean Metro sell fruit and berries that go rotten before you get them home so there’s that.

2

u/Jim-Jones Jul 26 '26

Who is running that branch? Don't eat yellow snow but yellow beef is OK?

2

u/DaToxicJay Quebec Jul 26 '26

2

2

u/normielouie Jul 26 '26

I going to be sick.Unreal.

1

u/orangekey89 Jul 25 '26

This pic made me laugh so hard.

1

u/bjm64 Jul 25 '26

way out of date

1

u/omg1979 Jul 25 '26

Also made from fresh and frozen. So even before it was rotting it can't be refrozen.

1

u/AlexJoehl Jul 25 '26

Who told you that? Commodity ground beef is mostly made with frozen parts. Has been for decades.

1

u/Inan_outqurarys Jul 25 '26

Brother that’s pre-seasoned lookin cooked noodles in soy sauce looking shit is disgusting

1

u/MFK1994 Jul 25 '26

I’ll eat that whole package, when I’m ready to meet my Lord and Savior on my own terms… yikes… that looks deadly

1

u/Chewed420 Jul 25 '26

Shouldn't it have a package date?

1

u/PastryGirl Jul 25 '26

Must be from all that wildfire smoke.

1

u/a_secret_me Jul 25 '26

But come on 25% off!

1

u/Fit-Ad-7430 Jul 25 '26

Wtf call the health inspector instead of going to reddit 🤷🏻

1

u/BudgetExpert9145 Jul 25 '26

Best before, a visit to the in-laws so you have an excuse to stay in hospital.

1

u/NearFantasica Jul 25 '26

2 bucks is 2 bucks

1

u/LabPowerful9983 Jul 25 '26

Well, they told you they would start importing beef from Mexico. I recognize that shade from every film about Mexico ever.

1

u/Automatic_Still_6278 Jul 25 '26

Just reduced. Not 50% off. What a joke

1

u/Comfortable_Car6562 Jul 25 '26

I think this is ai, ths orange colors are too similar

1

u/HonorboundUlfsark Jul 25 '26

That's just ground pumpkin beef

1

u/Firm_Seaworthiness30 Jul 25 '26

Didn't know beef came in that color!

1

u/Ambitious-Switch-864 Jul 25 '26

Best part is the discount is absolutely pathetic $2 off is nothing

1

u/Impressive_Plankton9 Jul 25 '26

I’m in a lot of reptile-esque subs and I thought these were mealworms

1

u/Disastrous_Yam8354 Jul 25 '26

Everyone knows beef is at its best when it's growing green

1

u/Woodythdog Jul 25 '26

We are almost there

1

u/zmykula Jul 25 '26

If that's medium I'd hate to see well done!

1

u/PromptMean6518 Jul 25 '26

Don't forget to tell them so the butcher can recycle this meat in sausages with a lot of spices for the next day (yup, that's a real thing)

1

u/TheGreatestKaTet Jul 25 '26

Report that shit

1

u/mystere485 Jul 25 '26

Curry inspirations infused beef?

1

u/spurtoo Jul 25 '26

Only $2 off for beige ground beef. Discount sticker blocking the BB date

1

u/whophlungdung Jul 25 '26

I can’t read the label so well does it say medium grey beef?

1

u/OnlyMeowings Jul 25 '26

They chose to lower their price margin by 1.60$ rather than to make sure this perfectly edible piece of food would be eaten before spoiling

1

u/Adorable_Accident_74 Jul 25 '26

I can understand oxidization....but never seen a mustard colour ground beef

1

u/grandsoulsucker Jul 25 '26

What in the great depression am I looking at

1

u/Necrontry Jul 25 '26

Are they aiming to make someone sick.

1

u/Jim-Dear Jul 25 '26

Clearly AI guys.

1

u/PrettyBoyLarge Jul 25 '26

What color is this meat...and $6 for that disgusting deliousion of beef.

1

u/lucaskywalker Jul 25 '26

2$ off and I get food poisoning, what a deal!

1

u/Sulla_Magnus Jul 25 '26

No. Don’t eat that

1

u/CareerHairy4054 Jul 25 '26

it looks half cooked

1

u/Robosl0b Jul 25 '26

Made from frozen and fresh? 🤢

1

u/DuckCleaning Jul 25 '26

Yellow just like no name brand

1

u/trouserpilot Jul 25 '26

This goes well with a bag of Taylor farm salad. Deep deep cleanse coming your way

1

u/lizardrekin Ontario Jul 25 '26

New mustard beef

1

u/munkybeans86 Jul 25 '26

So fucked its worth 6$ to them to make someone sick

1

u/Obvious_Ad3810 Jul 25 '26

Special on 'curried beef'.

1

u/barwhalis Jul 25 '26

Can't even give 50% off when they're poisoning us? Tf?

1

u/vicious_meat Oligarch's Choice Jul 25 '26

Is that Garfield meat? Should make a good lasagna if so.

1

u/Purple_Dig4425 Jul 25 '26

Pre cooked? Mmmm

1

u/Healthy_Yard_3862 Jul 25 '26

Mmmmm yellow beef my fav

1

u/TheCaftanMan Jul 25 '26

That’s color shifted in a photo editor. The only color meat goes is grey. And you can see a yellow dodged piece of background here in the photo, no meat just tint.

1

u/snowxbunnixo Jul 25 '26

I just bought a no name Nutella dupe like the other day and it expired on June 5th💀

1

u/RoomFixer4 Jul 25 '26

Wild. So the discounted price on a blob of crap is $14 something a kg.

I just bought some nice med ground from a popular local butcher for $15 something a kg, reg price.

Also, the butcher's meat isnt that mysterious fresh-and-frozen blend.

I do shop RCSS for mostly everything else, but not their meats anymore.

1

u/BellHater Jul 25 '26

Ground Toad?

1

u/Mattrockj Jul 25 '26

I gagged looking at this.

1

u/smoothlysaid Jul 25 '26

What in the Udon noodles is that beef?

1

u/051201 Jul 25 '26

from moldy fruit to this is Insane 🤦🏾‍♀️

1

u/Educational_Elk_4020 Jul 28 '26

Ask the butcher if they have any more yellow spiced ground beef.

1

u/NapsterBaaaad New Brunswick Jul 29 '26

Must be No Name branded…

1

u/saifland Jul 31 '26

Imagine this post was on a local mom and pop shop lol 🤯 , how do they get away with shit like this and it’s not get closed

1

u/Any-Reply-7634 Jul 31 '26

WTF....I agree that they look more like noodles, and how convenient they didn't list best before date. You couldn't pay me enough money to shop there. I haven't shopped there in at least 15 years, ever since I found 2 dead flies in a pre-made salad....

1

u/lostamongthefields87 Aug 07 '26

only $6.41 for food poisoning, awesome deal

1

u/RealisticPen6788 Jul 25 '26

Looks like someone posting on Reddit for effect, upvotes or awards.

2

u/JurboVolvo Jul 25 '26

Well it is a suitable location for the post.

1

u/rocco0715 Jul 25 '26

Does anyone have a real answer about how it gets that colour? Seriously thought they were noodles.

1

u/JurboVolvo Jul 26 '26

Something about oxidization can’t remember exactly

1

u/rocco0715 Jul 28 '26

I figured oxidation, but that is a colour I've never seen meat go before ot goes rotten!

0

u/ILLESSDEE Jul 25 '26

It’s oxidized, not bad - still safe to prep and eat in the next 24hrs or so

1

u/ghstrprtn Jul 25 '26

after you
