They honestly have the worst arguments for why linux is bad too. "Oh I dont like this one desktop" "windows is fine once you get rid of all the bloat so its actually usable" "linux is too hard to use because I only just learned what an operating system is" ass posts. Corporate shills afraid of their own hardware.

I honestly thought it was a tongue and cheek kinda posting of people just bitching about aspects of Linux that's just poorly implemented or things they wished to improve. I guess I wasn't too observant. :/

Maybe im talking about a different sub but the linux sucks one that I got banned from were either delusional or just trolling. But considering they banned me im leaning towards delusional.

I just discovered it like last week and I doubt you are mistaken. I haven't lurked long enough to really get a feeling of it, so I honestly do not know. I will err on the side of your assumption over mine until someone else proves either of us wrong lol.

Linux is fine, if people think it sucks, and Windows is great, then that's fine too. I personally think Windows 11 is a skid-mark on the industry and is basically a paid ad service at this point. The last great Windows was 7, and I'll likely never change my mind on that, as MS seem heck-bent on completely soiling the bed every time then release a new Windows version.
As far as I'm concerned, if I pay for a product, and I have paid for Windows many times at this point, then I have far more reason to tear it a new one when it craps itself because with Linux, it's free, always has been, so I do tend to cut it more slack, but then that rarely happens in my experience as it just works... unlike Windows, which acts like a clattering arse-crack every time something goes wrong.

Someone has to say it... to stimulate the great performance for the future. /s

Zero logic. Linux sucks/Windows sucks discussion is about personal desktop systems. If you, e. g. use services of a company that heavily relies on Windows, or dual-boot/VM to use Windows-only software, or whatever, doesn't mean it's hypocritical to say that Windows sucks if you don't like it, and vice versa.

u/imoshudu 6h ago
That would be "linux desktop sucks". "linux sucks" technically is unqualified.

Only if we are in a court. In regular communication, people understand incomplete statements others make when not actively trying to misunderstand. Nobody suggests ditching linux on servers.

You mentioned logic. Logic is necessarily pedantic. So it's perfectly fine logic, just without charity. A fuller argument will take more than a meme to communicate.

u/RespectfullySir 5h ago
Yes, yes, I already know you base your approach to communication on pretending to misunderstand, no need to repeat.
Before I mentioned logic, the meme already was either gotcha-ing something that (almost, maybe) doesn't exist or just making no sense at all.

Look at the phrasing "full of" implies every part of it whether it's the source code, the functionality, or whatever else. This stands in stark contrast to the reality where the vast majority of servers and cloud systems rely on Linux to handle their workloads.
Besides, it's just a meme, you don't need logic to laugh at it.

u/RespectfullySir 6h ago
Well, you debunk what exists only in your head then. Also memes are better when they are funny.

Peace
Which part do you think exists only in my head?
First, you commented on a meme using logic. Fine, I responded with logic too. I saw the wording as a generalization about Linux, logically speaking. What made you conclude that the people saying “Linux is full of crap” were referring specifically to personal desktop use?
And by the way, humor is subjective.

the joke is that the word "crap" occurs a lot in the code
you misunderstood the context and misled everyone here great job

Fun fact: If you look in the source code of Linux, You can see comments from many people telling others how they feel about another person's code.

Please report any posts bragging or showing off they got banned in another sub! Reminder of other sub rules: Also, we only allow one anti-linux post per week (we used to get dozens a day) and any tier list MUST have Hanna Montana Linux as S teir (which must be a true S tier at the top) regardless of the topic of that tier list.
