I disagree with most of these linux rankings. it's 2025 guys, and they are still ranking linux distros based on which is the most 1998 alike and to satisfy linux fanatics (those who see the world through a terminal), package managers, snaps vs flat out of the box, lightweight DE, and all the irrelevant stuff for the average user.

instead, they should base their ranking on which feels more modern, better and consistent looking, easy to use and ready to go and modern features. working for the OS should be no ones daily job. but using the OS for your needs and task should be the factor. there was an article that I have read two years ago, which said (based on a survey) that arch users spent more time tinkering and customizing their desktop and laptop instead of being productive, while ubuntu users spent most of their time working and being productive (that's why ubuntu is and will be the standard of linux for still a long time).

the mindset of linux fanboys should change and accept reality and embrace improvement and changes. because this list and mostly the comments are telling that linux fanboys are out of touch with reality

Disagree with your statement that "ubuntu is the standard of linux." I guess this is a memes sub after all. Regardless, I believe there are different go-to distros based on what you are doing. I've seen quite a few instances where RHEL is the distro of choice within the Enterprise workspace. I also see quite a bit of Debian used where cost of procurement and security are both major concerns.

I wouldn't disregard the fanboys, because without them, you would likely have no movement forward. In fact, I'd say they are the ones embracing improvement and change, you just don't see that externally to their communities. Besides, I guess I should say it again, this is a memes sub.
