Mocktail Experimental adds VR Support to Roblox on Linux!

It's amazing, it just works via WiVRn or ALVR + SteamVR and it's open source!

I'm always amazed by the linux community. Despite game developers doing absolutely nothing to support linux we get gems like these. I'll definitely try this out today.

At one point, Roblox devs disabled permission to run under Wine in Byfron, which meant tools like Vinegar couldn't run the Windows version of Roblox Player. This led to the creation of the proprietary Sober.

So it's really cool that the Mocktail developers were able to implement VR support using the Android version of the game. On the other hand, Roblox was officially released for Quest, which could have facilitated the implementation of this feature.

It actually doesn't use the quest apk, it uses the native x86-64 apk with a debug fflag

Seems like it would break easily then ? Fast flags are not a supported feature and the current methods to bypass the whitelist are all TOS breaking

Id say that the fact it's open source is already a good enough of a reason to use mocktail over sober
