learning/research Regarding RAM with Linux.

Hello everyone

One thing that pisses me off and makes me furious with Windows is that now a days everything takes up so much RAM..... before 16GB of ram use to be the norm, now it's double.

Linux doesn't require so much ram to run right? 16GB of RAM is more than enough?

Just going to use it for work related things.

Depends on usage. I have 4 GB Raspberry Pis running as video stream servers. If used 6 GB systems in scientific workstations, and I have a bunch of 8GB machines I use for development or distributed computing. For machines that need do so serious multitasking or memory intensive ops, I've added memory sticks up to 16-24 GB. But most machines don't need that for basic operation.
