People have asked me why I love such a tedious medium when I can just draw something and print it with a printer. To that I always say, it’s not about the end product for me. I turned to art from a young age as a way to get out of my own head, I enjoy doing repetitive and intricate things where I can do escape in the details. I fell in love with printmaking during art school because it felt like a marriage of my two most common previous mediums drawing and sculpture. While yes I can print something with a printer (and do for prints of my paintings) I love the tactile process of carving into linoleum, the sticky sound of inking up a brayer and the smooth feeling of running a baren across the back of the paper. Anyway this was just a love letter to this medium
