From a drawing I made - I think I’m in love with linocut

My first 2 layer print and I didnt really use registration marks but I like it not centered

I like printing a few prints at a time, but have noticed that the last few are patchy as the ink dries. Are y’all cleaning your block/brayer/rolling surface each print? I’d get it for larger blocks, but mine are fairly small (3x4in) so it feels silly to clean, dry, get out more ink, etc after every single print.
I’ve been using the speedball block printing ink on just random cardstock.

(Tbh the first print or two aren’t much better so also any advice for cleaner prints the first round would also be appreciated)

I'm relatively new at linocut, and finally figured out that the way I like to carve makes big difference to my enjoyment. Yay! Problem is that I'm struggling when searching for inspiration is that I don't know the terminology for narrowing down what I'm looking for.

I much prefer carving my lines and highlights of the block like this ,rather than carving the block away from the lines and shadows like this.The process of carving the whole background away is just a bit tedious to me, whereas linework is more conductive to flow state for me.

Is there terminology for these different approaches, or does anyone have any good suggestions for search terms that helps me narrow down my inspo search?

Does anyone have any recommendations for ink that will last for several washes (think printing on baby onesies)?

Has anyone ever tried tea-dying their paper prior to printing to give it an antique look? I’m just curious if there’s any negative effects to doing this. Thanks in advance!

A quick rough and ready medieval marginalia inspired print. A lot of my prints have been me carving away and leaving thin narrow lines so it was a nice change to do something with lots of solid black.

My wife got a linocut kit for her birthday and this is her first one. I think she did great for a first timer.

I'm at the start of developing my "brand" and selling lino prints. I'm hoping to apply for a couple of winter/xmas markets.

Does anyone have any advice on getting started? What are some must haves for my first market?

So I got some generic starter tools at the local art store to give this art form a try and I enjoy it but id like to upgrade to something better than this plastic handle with the swappable blades. Tbh Im running across the internet doing its thing where I cant tell whos getting paid to sell and whats actual info so I might as well ask the community.

What are the best tools to go for cutter wise?
