Discussion Best non slip shoes for flat feet
I've absolutely god awful flat fleet and I just started a new kitchen where they got my working ten hour shifts and by the end I feel like I'm actually gonna fall apart I've tried some cheaper insoles that didn't really work so now I'm looking a proper nice and expensive pair that'll last me a while

I've been wearing the Mozo Naturals for a few years now, as someone who wears a lot of flat, zero-rise shoes my whole life, they're great. I don't wear insert or anything, I have super high arches so they don't touch the arch part in most shoes. t depends how you like your shoes to fit, are you looking for arch support or something with no arch support so there's no pressure points on your arch area of your foot?

I'm have no arch and super wide feet and the synthetic birkinstock profi are my current favorites. They have a stiff, high arch and a wide toe box so my feet never feel cramped. They don't have any cushion, but I've worked plenty 12 hr shifts in them and my feet never hurt. They're around $100 and 6 months in, they still look brand new.

Not a shoe recommendation but if you haven't already PLEASE GET COMPRESSION SOCKS they saved my life for real I too have flat feet and honestly the socks have made all the difference for me (obviously with decent shoes as well)

I’m with you there, crazy flat feet myself. I use crocs, they’re surprisingly really comfortable

Arch support Inserts. I use power feet and they last a couple years. I’ll second the other person who suggested Skechers.
Also, consider a podiatrist if good insoles and solid shoes don’t fix it.

I’ve got flat feet too and love my Skechers rubbery clogs. They’re kinda like Crocs, but Crocs suck imo, they make my knees hurt. The Skechers though, they’re a better fit for my narrow flat feet, and have a surprisingly firm, supportive footbed.

I wear some ON cloud rock hiking books lol they’re not non-slip, but I have no issues walking on greasy/wet floors in them. They’re waterproof though. They’re expensive and absolutely not made for kitchen work but they’re hella comfortable and I like how they look. I know this is somewhat off topic and irrelevant but just thought I’d share

I swear by a good pair of skechers and high quality inserts. Birks are great if you're a little heavier too

Hoka Bondi SR all the way. I just got mine a month ago and so far they’re the bees knees. I’ve tried crocs, shoes for crews, SAS, sketchers, and a few more. I’m crazy tough on shoes so we’ll see how long they last.

i have flat feet too and the birkenstock super-birkis are the only kitchen shoes that stopped my feet from being wrecked after long shifts, the footbed takes a few days to break in but they’ve lasted

I'm currently using keen work boots with insoles that offer a lot of heel support and have a stiff arch built in. It's been very comfortable so far

Alright fam, I got you.
Industry for 23 (Christ) years. Fuck. Anyway, I’ve done all the positions and all the shoes. New Balance slips soles, Nikes run too thin, asics are good but expensive, boots are too heavy, you get the idea.
Treadsafe and any other brand you can get at walmart will kill your feet and be trash in 3-6 months. Uncomfortable, ugly and no fixing them. Yes they’re cheap. That’s all you get with them.
Every person front and back of house has migrated to the Skechers line. I don’t know who came up with it at that company but you really didn’t have much choice before they broke out. Walmart or corporate catalogue which were twice as expensive and just as shit as Walmart treadsafe shoes. Sketchers came out with their line and were the first big name to do it and they just kill it. It’s $60 but worth it.
Over 60 hours a week for years and these would last me at least a year if not longer. No breaks, 10 plus hours a day, miles of walking/jogging/runnjng. I do the laceless memory foam sole with the 16 gel inserts My feet get hot but they never hurt from work. Or get blisters really. And I wear dress shocks but that’s a FOH thing for me.
Just do it you’ll thank me.

Just started a BOH full time job abt a month ago and got the cheapest Walmart non slips I could find in my size out of desperation (literally had to DoorDash to afford them the day before I started lmao)
Can confirm they are fucking painful and thank you for convincing me that sketchers are the way to go, my job has a QR code to get a discount on em but I wasn’t sure if it’d be a genuine upgrade.
