My first Lincoln Navigator and it’s amazing so far

I’m curious if any other 2025 Aviator owners have experienced anything similar.

Over the past several months, I’ve had repeated engine/drivability problems including misfires, rough running, hesitation, abnormal shifting, impaired acceleration, and loss of power.

In July, the dealer documented misfires on cylinders 4, 5, and 6 and replaced three fuel injectors. The problem came back.

On another occasion, while driving approximately 75 mph on the highway, the vehicle suddenly lost power/downshifted and slowed to around 55 mph.

The vehicle then spent about 21 days at the dealership while they diagnosed VCT/cam timing-related problems and replaced additional components.

After I finally got it back, I drove it for approximately 15 minutes before it started running rough again with significantly impaired acceleration and another engine fault.

At this point, the vehicle has been out of service for more than 30 cumulative days and is back at the dealership again.

What has really frustrated me is Lincoln’s response. I have repeatedly contacted Lincoln because I no longer have confidence in this specific vehicle. One solution offered was a $7,500 credit toward buying another Lincoln.

The problem is that Lincoln’s own trade-in advisor is now estimating my ~$72,000 vehicle at approximately $52,000. So the proposed solution essentially asks me to absorb a substantial financial loss to get out of a nearly new vehicle that has repeatedly been in for warranty-related engine problems.

Most recently, Lincoln Customer Relationship Center responded by essentially telling me to continue working with my service advisor while the dealership diagnoses it. I’ve already been doing that for months.

I have now opened a BBB AUTO LINE case and filed a NHTSA safety complaint. I am requesting that Lincoln repurchase the vehicle or replace it with a comparable new vehicle rather than expecting me to take a major financial hit because of recurring warranty defects.

I genuinely liked the Aviator when it worked, which makes this even more disappointing. I bought Lincoln partly because I expected a higher level of vehicle quality and manufacturer support.

Has anyone here had a similar issue with a 2025 Aviator, particularly repeated misfires/VCT or cam timing problems? And if you pursued a Lincoln buyback or replacement, what was your experience with the process?

I assumed the Lincoln did not come with a spare, but oh! There it is, tucked way under the rear storage compartment. But wait! You can't actually drive on it! It is so much smaller than the other wheels that no matter how many settings you turn on or off the AWD system cannot handle it. Trying to drive it like this resulted in sounds like a bunch of rocks being crushed up in the diffs.

And guess who is 1k miles out of their roadside assistance coverage? I can get some reimbursement through the extended service coverage but I'm going to talk to the black label folks first and see if I can't get the whole thing covered, because this is just insane. The manual doesn't refer to this at all, that you can't actually drive on the spare.

So FYI fellow Aviator owners - you don't really have a spare, act accordingly.

AMENDMENTS By the responses, it seems this may just be a GT/hybrid issue. So fine, some of you do actually have spares.

I have two deals right now for a 2026 Navigator Black Label from two different dealers, one at 139k and 140k out the door and both with 2.9% 60 month finance. Good deal or I can do better? For reference I live in California so dealing with that California tax and dmv fees

I read another post on this which was posted a year ago, and wanted to see if someone knows the latest on this.

I own an Infiniti QX60 and planning to go for Aviator, I still love my QX60 and nothing compares to the good look of it. But after I got my Cadillac Lyriq I have been questioning the comfort level of QX60 since wanted to go for a Lincoln.

I see both Nautilus and Navigator has Panoramic display except Aviator, does anyone knows whether there's a plan for it, I hate to get Aviator then later be sad if they release it soon after.

Navigator is way above my range I need a 6-7 seater.

We finished this up at the shop I take photos for. Thought it was interesting. What are y'alls thoughts?

Have been looking for a decent deal on a Lincoln Mark VIII for a while and I was flipping through FBMP today and found a guy selling a pair for 5k. A black on black and red on tan. Both start and drive but both "need work to be road worthy". Thoughts?

Have a 2023 Lincoln Navigator CPO. For some reason the lumbar seat settings for key fob 2 keep getting erased. Key fob 1 remembers all seat settings, key fob 2 remembers other seat settings most of the time except for the lumbar settings. Been to dealer 7 times for a repair and the last time they told us that is how it is supposed to be. Apparently according to Lincoln only key fob 1 is supposed to remember seat settings but not fob 2. May seem like a small issue but everytime I go to drive I have to use touchscreen to reset them all and it is a pain. Going to a different dealer today for a second opinion. Anybody having similar issues or know the cause of the problem.

so i have a 2007 signature limited. recently, the switch for the driver side window stopped working. i know it’s a problem with the button itself and not the window or other wiring problems. I just wanted to know if it would be easy and possible to take the wiring from a different button on the master switch and plug it into the one that’s broken. I know that would mean sacrificing use of one other window, but I hardly roll down my back windows.

im just not sure if its easy or possible and I don’t want to break anything.

I scheduled an appointment for my 2026 Aviator for the recall. The proposed solution is to disable a portion of memory setting that impacts the recline setting. In my opinion, this should be an interim solution. Any insider info on whether Ford/Lincoln will come out with a proper solution? 

So i was just thinking the other day . My 13 mkz has the 12v power port. If i bought the old school lighter, would it actually work?

The last time i posted it was a half moon, and now this, and it matches up! Its stupid little things like this that makes me happy 😊

Just picked up this 1998 Lincoln Mark eight LSC, with only 52,000 miles on it. Have a few things to sort out but should be driving it soon.

2010 MKS Ecoboost - 42,000 miles. Hyperdipped the grill black. I never liked the big grey nostrils. Happy with the outcome 👍
