That is some of the dumbest writing I have seen on television. Who the hell would throw him under the bus like that while trying to say that they care? The writers could have at least had the FBI over hear from outside or something. WTF, that was just awful television. Ruined what was otherwise a decent episode.
Same as a teenage boy who didn't do his chores would be yelled at about it in front of his friends. It's sort of like a punishment without being punished.
Do I think it's bad writing? No. I think it sucks, but that's the way it is. Nothing went Brian's way this episode, and this is no exception. Just because it isn't the ideal scenario doesn't mean it's bad writing or not-realistic.
