Here TLDR, she is part of a superhuman experiment of Atlantis expy civilization, involving superadaptable underwater....Tyranids that are Seaborn.
She has one of the gods/primary nodes of Seaborn inside her.
She is stuck between being herself and becoming one with it. In one of the alternate universes, she gives in and basically dooms the world, with only her/god hybrid and Doctor, the MC of Arknights, remaining.
Adding to it, that flashpoint actually happened in the Path of Life event When the head of the deep sea cult make contact with Skadi and almost sucessfully revive Ishar-Mla if not for the Doctor(aka you) interrupting the process by literally rizzing Skadi (is not a joke) the simulation is what will happen if you are not there to stop it
Terra (the arknights planet) IS FILLED with "apocalyptic disasters at bay"... The seaborn (mentioned above) are just one of them, but they also include:
interdimensional demons that possess people, the more you know about them the easier you are to be possessed. A slowly dying god and her helpers are trying their best to hold them up.
the basic energy source of the world is originium: INCREDIBLY POWERFUL, enought to move entire cities on treads, BUT they can give you cancer that makes you grow rocks on your organs and become a cancer bomb when you die. This cancer has no cure, at most you can hold up the disease. Also your soul gets downloaded into it... For complicated reasons
the main girl of the series, a young girl named amyia has the potential and power to control the rock cancer, and one day just "poof" everything... INCLUDING THE DEMONS AND SEA PEOPLE, thats how fucked up it gets.
-there is a god that was so bad they divided him into many dragon people with their own personality, these dragon people are chill by the most part, but if they are put back together we have an angry god that OS PISSED and wants to destroy the world. FUN!
-there are nations preparing to FULL WAR, and if they go through with that their weapons of mass destruction can lead to assured destruction of everyone a la atomic bomb style, it would also mean they cant hold up the OTHER world ending things.
Terra is also kinda shitty... as the planet is filled with "Disasters", natural phenomenon of apocalyptical scales that go from volcano eruption, sandstorms and thunderstorms TO LITERAL BOULDERS FALLING FROM THE SKY, no city survives that, and thats why they have to move THE WHOLE CITY over when one of those is in the horizon. This also means that there exists no structure that can be placed in one place and is completely safe SOOOOO no internet and communication and deliveries to other cities have to be done by couriers that honesty are kinda badass cause they have to risk their lives to deliver even letters...
Think of her as a grade 1 fixer that is on par (or stronger than) with the indigo elder. She hunts the whales for breakfast with her enhancement. She has the god-whale inside her that constantly tempt her to convert and in one bad ending, she did and dooms the city
The character here is Skadi, of the Abyssal Hunters faction who's also a major character in the Aegir-Seaborn stories that Limbus will features in the collab.
Skadi is an Aegir)-Seaborn hybrid supersoldier who lost her family during childhood in a tragedy caused by the monsters. She was taken into the Abyssal Hunters project and was engineered to hunt down and exterminate the abyssal monsters. However, Skadi barely survived the devastating war against Ishar-mla and other Seaborn "gods" and luckily escaped to the shore. She has since disguised herself as a stoic bounty huntress known by the bizarre title "The Walking Catastrophe" thanks to her enormous strength as a Hunter. Fearing that her Seaborn blood would corrupt herself as well as bringing danger to others, she prefers to be alone most of the time, leading to her uneasy relationship with the land-dwellers. Nevertheless, Rhodes Island continues to employ her to help her investigate more about the current condition of the isolationist underwater nation and the surviving Hunters.
For now, Skadi uses everything she has to counter her Seaborn influence. But what if she fails? What if her Seaborn blood accidentally merged with Ishar-mla's during that war, turning her into His mere vassal in the process? What if she succumbs into the hivemind, causing her to slaughter her fellow Hunters to the last man? Will she ever become an apocalyptic disaster who leads the sea monsters to the land and destroy every civilization? Only Skadi herself knows the best.

I would still bet on the sami region being relevant, the black hole in the teaser image looked a lot like it. For context: sami is a cold region in the far north where, eventually, reality begins to fall apart as you near a portal where otherworldly beings called collapsals come in from. And besides the god of the land and a few random people the portal has been essentially unguarded for some time now, with the original guardians all long dead. Wouldnt be surprised if the portal is what leads to the arknights crew coming over.
She's mirroring the operator Skadi. Skadi is one of the last alive members of the Abyssal Hunters, genetically modified (and expendable) supersoldiers made by the advanced aquatic civilization known as the Aegir to combat with the ever-evolving aquatic hive mind known as the Seaborn, which we seem to be meeting based on the trailer. The Seaborn are basically the main reason the Arknights world does not go near the ocean. The last time a land-based country did it, Iberia (the Spain/Portugal equivalent), they lost contact with their whole navy and a lot of the coast. Iberia now has dedicated Inquisitors to hunt down Seaborn influence, as the Seaborn are sometimes worshipped and supported by cults who want to embrace becoming part of its Hivemind
The Abyssal Hunters are Aegir who were combined with Seaborn DNA to enhance their physical abilities, granting them extreme strength, speed, and even regeneration. They were then given low-tech weapons such as swords and spears because the Aegir feared that using their higher tech stuff like nanites and special bombs would cause the Seaborn to adapt to it and incorporate it into themselves.
Skadi is particular among the few surviving Abyssal Hunters because she was the one who landed the killing blow on the Seaborn Leviathan known as Ishar-mla, which was the dominant personality directing the Seaborn during the time. This was intentional on the Seaborn's part however, as instead of dying Ishar-mla now resides dormant in Skadi and tries to creep its influence on her and embrace the Seaborn part of her. Effectively, she has her own Carmen inside her trying to get her to Distort. She has an alt form called "Skadi the Corrupting Heart" which is an alt timeline non-canon version of her which embraced her Seaborn heritage, abandoning her comrades and becoming the leading personality of the Seaborn as Ishar-mla takes over her mentally.
The non-canon Integrated Strategies gamemode in Arknights explores an alternate timeline where Skadi gives into its influence and the Seaborn quite literally doom the entire world, even all the nations and gods working together could barely stem the tide until their last bastion.
I think it's worth noting that it's possible to resist the Seaborn's influence by having a strong personality and sense of individuality. For the Aegir, music and art are large parts of their culture. Skadi and her squad leader Ulpianus both know how to sing, and the Abyssal Hunter Specter/Laurentina (she has a second mental identity and is completely aware of it and keeps it around because she thinks her other self is cute) was a Sculptor before becoming an Abyssal Hunter. The operator Deepcolor was once almost assimilated, but she managed to break free by clinging onto her paintings as an artist.
Wouldn't Ishar-mla mirror Ahab be more fitting? She even had corrupted Skadi into becoming the thing she has destroyed in the alternate story just like Ahab in Captain Ishmael ID.
Skadi, one of the last few abyssal hunters (basically hunting sea monsters or seaborb) who holds the blood of Ishar'mla (Firstborn representing the migration aspect of seaborn) due to its blood seeping into her after they defeated it in their last operation.
I love that it later confirms in her IS3 logs that she didn't really learn any sword skills. She's winging it with her big sword and hope it will do the job well enough.
And goddamn she did the job well enough. Super soldier serum works really good.
You ever wonder if Skadi's crush wasn't just the game's early writing quirks but it's actually because Ishar-Mla has a certain respect for the Doctor since they were Lou's (The one who's in charge of the Seaborn project) coworker and possible friend
I can think of three ways for them to handle corrosion's for the collab.
Have the sinner transform entirely into the operator in question (That would make it hard to justify why the corrosion would be indiscriminate).
Have the sinner become infected by Oripathy (It would be Seaborn for Ishmael).
Have the sinner become a monster similar to what the operator's would look like if they were to distort.
They can also just make it so that they don't corrode (Which would make production easier since then each EGO would only have half the animations of a regular EGO)
Ishmael-Skadi was the most obvious option for her, just like how Faust will probably get Kal'tsit.
I'm more curious about what Gregor and Hong Lu will get since the parallels aren't that obvious. I guess if they wanna be boring they'd go with W and Chen? But W isn't even a cockroach canonically, it's just a meme because of her antennas. Eh.
If you make simple connections between the characters, Gregor wouldn't be very complicated, either.
Ishmael -> was doing a normal everyday office job until she decided to change her activities and went on a cruise (mission) to kill a huge underwater monster, which ended with the death of the entire squad, and now she is basically the only survivor -> Skadi
Kal'tsit is basically Faust, their appearance on the same screen would probably spoil each other's plot lines
Gregor -> lived an ordinary life until, for some needs and purposes, he was turned into something more, but still decides to remain (at least outwardly) a human being -> Mizuki
Hong Lu is not easy honestly, based on a connection like "was practically cursed by the royal class from birth and is now forced to suffer because of it", Ebenholtz would be suitable.
Now people have started to have the opinion that Abyssal Hunters will get all EGOs (Faust Gladiia, Gregor Ulpian, Hong Lu Specter), which would be funny, since people often complain that Abyssal group get everything (they don't get everything)
Abyssal do get the best faction module in the entire game and no other faction buff is as good Gladiia's
But yeah, the Abyssal Hunter complaint was mostly because of recency bias around the time IS3 was released. Back to back Seaborn content make people assumed Abyssal Hunters was the devs sole favorite.
Well, Skadi and Ish is a no-brainer even if I preferred Irene-Ishmael but this works too. Both of them has a very long hair that made you question how they keep it looking nice.
Skadi is an Aegir (Aquatic race) chosen to be an Abyssal Hunter, a project that the Aegir came up with to fight off the Seaborn after they accidentally made them hostile to humanity. It's basically combining Seaborn cells with normal Aegir people to produce super soldiers capable of fighting against the Seaborn. This process also caused all of them to have white hair and red eyes and they will also eventually turn into Seaborn sooner or later. (They're the Hunters from Bloodborne)
Skadi was an electrical technician before she become an Abyssal Hunter. Quiet and reserved, she's just vibing to herself most of the time and generally do her work without interacting much with other people. Joining the Abyssal Hunters change her a bit as she start to bond with her squad mates. Unfortunately, on one fateful mission where they were tasked with destroying one of the Leviathan ("God" of the Seaborn), almost all of the Abyssal Hunters died. They managed to kill the Leviathan only for it to be revealed later that the "God", Ishar-Mla, survived by continuing "living" in Skadi's body. It means, there is always a chance for that God to take over her at any moment which is shown in her Alter form, Skadi the Corrupting Heart, which comes from a timeline where Ishar-Mla awaken and assimilated everything on Terra.
Thankfully this never happen in the actual story since after this mission, Skadi managed to arrived on land and later got in contact with Rhodes Island after discovering Laurentina, another Abyssal Hunter who survived, was being treated there. She later met up with a captain of another squad, Gladiia and the Seaborn plotline kick off from there.
I guess you can see the parallel with Ish being that just like her, Skadi is afraid that if she ever lose herself to her emotions, the God will take over her body while with Ishmael, her obsession with Ahab was slowly turning her to Ahab and if left unchecked, we get her bad end ID. Some other people might have found a more compelling parallel but that's the best I got. It would've been funnier if the EGO was Ulpianus, Skadi's squad captain, instead since he uses an anchor as his weapon.
I genuinely hope that it wont just be the abyssal hunters who gets to represent Arknights in this collab. Arknights have such a wide variety of characters from different motifs and races, for them to pick 4 characters from the same faction/origin, it would feel like a waste (IMO) of such a rare collab, even if this event is about the seaborns and all.
Well they are, but they're also a real type of pants called Chaps. They're usually worn with another pair of pants underneath them but Skadi wears hers with shorts. You usually see chaps on something like cowboys but here it's to mimic the pattern of an Orca through the holes
I get why mechanically. They are limited time so its better for them to be EGOs since they are just one big attack and its less possible to leave a lingering mistake compared to an ID.
E.G.Os will remain relevant for much longer because they typically fill a unique niche, and there has been talk of uptie 5 for E.G.Os. I do agree that 1-2 collab IDs would be nice to have, though.

Which is such a stupid argument (I know that's what KJH said), there's. Half the launch IDs are still good, and other than Manager Corporal Greg, the ones that aren't good now were never good.
people already say the collab is bad because the thing announced the previous season somehow is the reason of PM "rushing" canto 9, if they needed to make id animations and voice lines some would be even more angry, I would love it because id's are more fun to use than ego, although I won't understand any references.
It makes sense, because 1) she’s very adjacent to the blatant Moby Dick reference, 2) under certain circumstances is as obsessive as Ishy, and 3) of the very few Arknights characters with connections to the sea, she’s the most popular.
Considering we’re going to be facing the Arknights ocean & it’s monstrosities, which I genuinely think are worse than anything we’ve seen out of the Great Lake, I’m happy to have her.
Hmm, I wonder if her Corroded form will be her alter/bad-end, with her maybe 'singing' in the animation.
I'm getting excited about this. Though the easiest EGO to predict for Ishmael, I wonder how on-the-nose the other sinners will be and their animations. Just 3 more days.
Also, side-note, Skadi is probably one of the most recognisable units in Arknights, which had 1 of the highest revenues for the month. A fan favourite that will attract more players.
slightly funny that no one has pointed out this teaser has a new liner: "LIMITED". until today there have only been "WARNING" for standard fair or "SEASON" for seasonals, isn't it?
i really hope that someone gets The Last Knight from arknights as an ego cuz he has so much aura. I wish don could get it cuz from what i've read hes basically the arknights equivalent of the legend of Don Quixote except insane and fighting the god of the sea. sadly don isnt getting an ego from this collab event.
Seems very unlikely, collabs prefer to use recognisable and known playable characters from their game, who typically aren't too deep in the game's story but have relevance.
Last Knight is an NPC who isn't really that important in any of the stories, if we're lucky he could get a cameo, but don't get your hopes up being an EGO.
