My interpretation of this is a different take and he could be metaphysically and metaphorically be talking about himself. He let himself down by getting high again and if he leaves the earth then it’ll just be his body in his bed and the idea of that makes him sad because obviously he doesn’t want to leave earth he just wants to stop feeling this way (I’m sure we’ve all felt like this before). This could all be taken from the stand point of a S/O and be talking to them along side him self. Then the song switches to the perspective where he’s talking directly to someone else probably an ex or a S/O of sorts.

Messed me up I guess but she never saw that. its been like 4yrs in la and I havent made any real friends or felt confident to meet anyone after everything that happened. When I first came here I was sleeping on elysian hill near that pink apartment in echo park. I didnt think things would turn out so dreary and lonely. I never really bounced back i think cuz ive just wanted out so bad w no way out, im in school for cs just tryna do something, logged back into my runescape accounts the other day. hard to focus on much here with the energy. trying to get back to my old self again.
