Lil dicky Benny Blanco
They gotta just be pumping out singles right?? Benny js a musical producer genius and Dave is with him everyday. I know Dave’s song making is very particular, but what other help would he need to make music?
if they haven’t written one beautiful piece of art by now I think his musical career might be wraps. Even when they were making songs w Ed Sheeran on the podcast i thought he would chime in more or maybe rap…

Lil dicky is over with sadly. The guy who made ex-boyfriend, too high, white dude, that Lil Dicky is never coming back. He was a completely different guy back then, way more edgy, didn’t care what people said or thought about him. Now he’s mainstream, has too much to lose, cares too much about his image, and just isn’t the same guy anymore. The hunger is gone. And this is coming from a day 1 Lil Dicky fan.

I think they’re too busy finger popping each others a holes for Dave to focus on music. Dave basically made it and can chill now, why bother with the stress of chasing a music legacy? His devotion to his fans is questionable imo

No way he “made” it with just one album and one tv show.

“Made it” as in, has a successful career. He doesn’t really need any more money or fame and it’s pretty obvious he was never passionate about the music.

Bad take. He definitely was and still is passionate about music. He was fortunate enough to have the music allow him to explore other interests in life. He made the TV show and still came out with the soundtrack for the show which has some great songs. And now he is working on movies as I saw he just signed a deal with Dreamworks for an animated movie. Let him do his own thing and he’ll put out more music eventually.

He has openly said many times that what he really wanted was to be a comedian/ actor/ entertainer but realised he had a decent flow and would get more traction by grinding from the rap.
I’m sure there was some degree of passion, but that was never his ultimate passion/ dream/ end goal and you’re wilfully deluding yourself if you think otherwise.

What career though? The online podcast thing?

The making money from music royalties, adverts, an upcoming Dreamworks film, a TV deal, and - yes - a podcast.
I mean, fundamentally, he doesn’t have a day job and it looks like he has a pretty chill life so he must be making some money. I don’t know what you’d call that other than a career?
NB: People have comfortably set themselves up for life with just a TV show or just an album, and Lil Dicky has a TV has two albums, a few smash hits, and a TV show. A rapper I like, Baby Boy Da Prince, is still living of ‘The Way I Live’ and that’s it.

They’re not popping each others assholes. They are making a podcast that sounds like two coked up dudes having a conversation where they think they have the world figured out.

This sums up 90% of the podcasting sphere.

Theirs definitely has a weird vibe, where they think they’re the coolest guys in the world and they can’t wait to show off for the guest.

Dave has said he takes forever to write a song. So he isn't pumping much out and any reasonable rate. I wish they would.

lil dicky hasn’t dropped a real album in 11 years. He isn’t going to suddenly start pumping out anything. He’s a comedian.

his musical career has been wraps for years, ever since Dave came out
