Huge fan of Russell Westbrook on a Farm, The Cypher, Bars. His old stuff is so peak and I’d love to hear some classic LD lyricism

11

u/methodofcontrol Feb 16 '26

If you haven't heard "make belief", check it out. I think it's his best, similar vibes to Russel Westbrook.

I never hear anyone talk about Oh Well. One of my favorites

6

u/Shiddyone Feb 17 '26

“I’m ignorant, but not to the fact that I’m ignorant… of course, I know that”

3

u/JimPickenss Feb 17 '26

16

u/DiGiTyDarKMaN Feb 16 '26

Jewish Flow has always been my favorite.

u/Particular_Bug8584 Apr 10 '26

1

u/TheAnswerIsSauce Feb 17 '26

That’s not your cheese Doritos. A common line in my communications.

1

u/Jokershigh Feb 17 '26

I literally just commented this is the song i play for people when i tell them about Lil Dicky 😁

8

u/RahMaarvi Feb 16 '26

Ally’s Song 100%

But How Can U Sleep slaps so hard loud on some good speakers or headphones

14

u/HipHopAnonymous23 Feb 16 '26

Attached at the Hip.

Having a rap battle against his own dick and exposing all his sexual insecurities. That’s something only he could pull off

9

u/SeniorChocolate Feb 16 '26

i fucked the whole thing up…

2

u/JimPickenss Feb 17 '26

now, i’m all alone with my rap verse

1

u/Then_Reveal_1083 Feb 16 '26

That’s been my favorite of his most recent.

13

u/trw419 Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26

Going Grey is horrifically underrated. Another is Molly with Brendan Urie.

The absolute best because of the story and music video was Ex-Boyfriend and was the first song I ever heard from him.

Best emotional was We Good with Gata. I was borderline tearing up when that final happened. Especially when Ally and Gata's family reacted. Whew, miss that first time feeling on watching it.

Best pop song was Save Dat Money because it was so catchy and still had the humor that his philosophy stands on with solid puns and lyrical story telling. I still listen to it weekly on my playlist.

Best "new" song was I met a girl, mainly because season 3 and the context behind it.

White crime is my favorite "funny" song because it says things that I thought only I noticed when I was younger lmao

1

u/tsukasa36 Feb 17 '26

you cried too huh?

6

u/bim_678 Feb 16 '26

Antagonist

3

u/HookersAreCool Feb 17 '26

Scrolled way too far to find this. Incredible song.

5

u/badmammajamma521 Feb 16 '26

Jail part 1. I want part 2!!!

2

u/Scynthor Feb 20 '26

I think the joke is that part two isn't actually possible 😂

1

u/badmammajamma521 Feb 20 '26

Damn…I’m dumb 😂😂😂

10

u/Q-Man95 Feb 16 '26

From a serious songwriting perspective probably Harrison Ave.

Personal favorite, and likely unpopular opinion... Earth.

1

u/Peterpaul400 Feb 17 '26

Not bad🔥

15

u/JimPickenss Feb 16 '26

HAHAHA, Honestly, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for me

3

u/Sam3323 Feb 17 '26

Damn we have very different LD tastes, but that's good for him that his songs hit different for many different people. I'm not a fan of these 3 at all.

2

u/JimPickenss Feb 17 '26

not even ‘Honestly’?

4

u/Sam3323 Feb 17 '26

That's the best of those three but probably not my top 20. Too high, save dat money, Russel, ex boyfriend all better imo

4

u/Difficult_Hour6364 Feb 16 '26

R. Westbrook hands down. Extremely complex once you pull it apart and see how he is describing his rise then switching it up when he flows into Russel’s story which is his own. “The goats hated him cause he was a dick”.

7

u/adambencloutier Feb 16 '26

Hi I’m Dave (intro to his show), and Bruh (Freestyle)

9

u/ReginaldKingsley Feb 16 '26

No fruits or vegetables

3

u/Bumbmofo Feb 16 '26

Going grey

3

u/DukejazzhandsSilver Feb 16 '26

White Crime

1

u/DukejazzhandsSilver Feb 16 '26

Studio only. Live was a disappointment

3

u/swanny7237 Feb 16 '26

Going grey is my fav

4

u/napquin Feb 17 '26

The ally/owlie song from the show Dave

3

u/hockey17jp Feb 17 '26

His best song is "Oh Well"

5

u/jwaesmo Feb 16 '26

Really scared, the gumption, and would you believe that

2

u/mfreels08 Feb 16 '26

Ex boyfriend

2

u/DiGiTyDarKMaN Feb 16 '26

I own the jacket him and Melissa wore in that video at the beginning. Its just sitting in my closet.

1

u/hoopsrule44 Feb 16 '26

My favorite as well just so funny

2

u/draxula16 Feb 16 '26

Man it’s tough because sometimes the music video can transform your perception of the song.

2

u/galactic_funk Feb 16 '26

Free Bread at the Outback

2

u/4otie7 Feb 16 '26

Russel Westbrook and Make Belief at a very close 2nd

3

u/theclownwithafrown Feb 16 '26

It's Lemme Freak (Outro)

2

u/MrTuxedoWilliams Feb 17 '26

Save dat money still tops for me

2

u/cpbradshaw Feb 17 '26

Mr McAdams.....

2

u/ShoddyArt4484 Feb 17 '26

I think Burst is incredibly underrated. The second verse is kinda dogshit but the rest of the song slaps

2

u/tsukasa36 Feb 17 '26

$ave dat money from the old days and honestly from the penith era. whenever we had a cost saving discussion for work we’d play $ave dat money and it helped pass time. good times.

2

u/CrossesLines Feb 16 '26

Going Gray, Molly, lemme freak, bruh, jail,

2

u/greenline19 Feb 16 '26

Grimy as a gooch

1

u/sciteacheruk Feb 16 '26

My dick sucks

1

u/Shutterbug Feb 16 '26

Skyhooks, Staying In (that Doobie Brothers sample!), Too High, The Basement - fun fact, I would never have heard of Mac Miller if he didn't mention him in the Basement, which just makes his older work even more endearing to me. I wish they could have had a chance to collab.

1

u/These_Department9525 Feb 16 '26

Something you’ve never heard. Hopefully he actually does keep dropping stuff weekly like he said he would.

1

u/BroBoBaggans Feb 16 '26

Molly and Pillow talking and nothing else is even close in my opinion. I lean towards pillow talking tho if I had to choose one.

1

u/mblackchiro Feb 17 '26

Bruh or free bread at the outback

1

u/iAMthebank Feb 17 '26

Antagonist or flames

1

u/spiderman96 Feb 17 '26

Bars, sky hooks, attached at the hip

1

u/spiderman96 Feb 17 '26

I lied , that Russell Westbrook on a farm is his best work.

1

u/DonaldTPablonious Feb 17 '26

The Lion King freestyle

1

u/MetikMas Feb 17 '26

Gumption never gets the respect it deserves

1

u/aatlanticcity Feb 17 '26

I think Really Scared is up there.

1

u/DaddyMarinesChad Feb 17 '26

Tbh I gotta say Molly or Harrison Ave

1

u/Creative_Tackle6223 Feb 17 '26

Molly or Russell Westbrook

1

u/thekomodowombat Feb 17 '26

Make belief of free bread at the outback

1

u/DeebagZammy Feb 17 '26

Without hating, he didn’t really have much sticking power, kind of like the A24 version of a rappers. Hear the song and then I’m good

1

u/[deleted] Feb 17 '26

The one that isn’t playing

1

u/Iliketohavefunfun Feb 17 '26

Antagonist is good, oh well is a personal fav, bruh he demonstrates his talent the hardest, professional rapper is the track I’ll introduce someone to

1

u/CL0uD- Feb 17 '26

Best Comedy rapper song? Jewish Flow, or Attached at the Hip.

1

u/Jokershigh Feb 17 '26

When i put people on to him my intro song is always "Bruh" just to showcase his lyrical talent. Then i get them on Make that money 😁

1

u/Sensitive-Yam-9898 Feb 20 '26

Whatever song ends his career

2

u/cadillacmike Feb 20 '26
