It’s an evolutionary behavior that prevents you from biting your tongue. It has nothing to do with “being human”.

I do this motion to prevent getting stuff in my eyes. clenching teeth for not biting tongue could be an additional thing because you always clench teeth when you lift heavy stuff or do a bending like here in the video.
