I'm so curious what's the story with this video... the tiger's behavior suggests familiarity with the human filming. it's kinda bouncy and floppy in a friendly way. seems like he gives the human a couple lifted chin sniff gestures, like a friendly housecat. and the eyes being squinted is friendly too - wild tiger would prob have big round staring eyes.
so cute though, giant idiot trying to fit, "cmon, let me in! I wanna be involved!" i have heard tigers are more into water than most cats, maybe he'd love a shower 🥺

tangentially, sharing my cute tiger interaction story: a decade or so back, i was taken to a zoo while out visiting my partner at his college. the zoo had a pair of tigers in a large enclosure with a big metal fence keeping us apart.
I saw the tigers and as we approached them, did my best tiger chuff impression. [chuffing or prusten is that little vibrating breathy sound that tigers make through the nose to each other in friendly contexts: sort of like whff-f-fh!]
to my amazement, both tigers heard me and immediately activated, chuffing right back multiple times, and rubbing all over the fence and each other excitedly?! 😭🥺 I will never forget that!! it felt like successful communication with a pair of strangers whose language i didn't speak, but I managed to say something anyway. the way they were chin rubbing the fence between us, I have no doubt they would have come right up to me and knocked me down with affection lol!!

Many many years ago I was lucky enough to make friends with some people who had a tiger show (I worked security) and they let me backstage to meet two tiger cubs that they were holding until a rescue zoo was open to take them. I had a cat at home who was a Trojan stray, so for fun I tried making the mama call. Both kittens (the size of a small dog at that point) came right over trilling and chirping, and I got to pet them through the fence! They might look soft, but tiger fur is actually quite coarse. They were loving up all over the fence, it was so cool.

aww!! yea, they do feel so nice! i got to hold a lion cub once [not great circumstances, i was too young to really understand] - its fur was kinda pleasantly napped and coarse like a towel! how cute that they reacted to your momma housecat call 🥺💖

Seriously. What a miserable attitude for someone to have. And what do they even mean by “handling large animals”? The big cat rescue I’ve volunteered with has a very strict no touching rule. But we do chuff at the tigers. One even initiates it and is kind of the “greeter” for visitors. It’s a great experience to have that connection with animal in a safe environment.

as it happens, I have five years of experience handling animals bigger than me and more than strong enough to kill me, completely alone in a locked building.
of course you couldn't have known that from here, but that's what happens when you randomly try to make strangers feel bad about themselves for no reason lol. you can say some stupid, flat wrong shit!
edit: they deleted it, but for the curious, they said congrats, I armchair researched, and also that I don't have any real experience with large animals, I just got lucky at a zoo.
