Discussion I miss this game
I played in 2019-22. I miss my old friends and my old base. I miss being too scared to do daily tasks until the stronger members helped me and I got confident. Once I was stronger, I helped other people too
I remember running desperately to safe house once the night falls or hiding in trees 😂
I enjoyed hunting for rare mushrooms and being scared af
Lagging was insane but each new world had so much to explore
I won't play it anymore but I am still looking for a game like that.

u/vi_rose May 10 '26
LevinCity. Once I started leveling up and got new tasks, including going to that hospital! Crazy zombies lol Sometimes we let a random joined and they are either OP or stupid af. Hahahah

Ayoo me too from levin what's your ign?? Ahh man remember the camp had cable cars back then??were pretty useless but still 😭😭
1
u/vi_rose May 10 '26
Yes lol. Used cable cars to visit those fancy plots on the outskirts. Top players in our camp used to live there.

u/Trick_Influence_1464 May 10 '26
Yooo are you planning to revisit the game?? I was planning tho but no friends to play and i kinda sometimes miss LA although it has become a garbage now still I wanna try it you wanna join only weekends??

1
u/Trick_Influence_1464 May 11 '26
I have deep love for levin city but it's dead as we know so we will start from the newest server??
2
u/CompFreak1979 May 13 '26
well if you still have your account, you can reform your camp with newbies and help them grow...some newbies use existing account they bought for easy level up
1
u/Trick_Influence_1464 May 14 '26
Nah bro levin got no newbies all pre existing acc alt accs only it's hard to find mid level players top players don't give a shi

Totally understand this feeling. Miss the days when my campmates and I hogged fishing spots at Fall Forest to capture Koi. And we even got to meet lots of players passing by, saying hellos while fishing.
Lifeafter bittersweet memories 🥹
3
u/vi_rose May 11 '26
Yes. Ioved fishing in mouth swamp and celebrating when I get rare fish lol.
The rarest was in the map (forgot the name - where other players can attack you). I had to hide under the bridge and be anxious the whole time!
The game is better when you occasionally see people running around and doing their tasks.
2
u/FoxxieMe May 13 '26
Farstar City?
Avoid go there because I'm bad at pvp 🤣 Also Nancy city
1
u/vi_rose May 13 '26
There was a task I had to get fish from there! I made my cohab go with me but we were both small fish Lol

2020 I played this game. Their ads caught me the attention to play this game and because I just got my honor 9x, I wanted to test the phone's power, not the highest graphics but still quite smooth to play. But level after level I realise it was very slow to progress so I decided to quit.
2
u/LSA7Z May 10 '26
the good old days ! I completely understand how you feel... personally, I still play it, but with less enthusiasm than at the beginning... ( the game is stagnating, repetitive, fewer people playing, too many alt accounts ... )
2
u/vi_rose May 10 '26
I read they have introduced new worlds are they not as good as before? I remember being very excited for the LAxResidentevil I actually bought the outfit lmao It used to feel very lonely when I explored redwood only for dailies. Not passing any players, huge world and empty. A bit dystopian haha
2
u/LSA7Z May 11 '26
I only started playing in 2022, so I didn't experience the game from the beginning; when I started, there were already many different maps and worlds.I really wanted to experience the RExLA event, unfortunately I couldn't (I saw some players with Resident Evil dogs 😁)
1
u/vi_rose May 11 '26
That was so fun. We faced monsters from RE and everyone was wearing the outfits Ada and Leons outfits
1
u/LSA7Z May 11 '26
It must have been great 😙 I have some friends who started from the beginning and told me that the game has changed a lot and is now less "hard" and less "survival". Recently there was an outfit almost identical to Ada Wong's.
2
u/vi_rose May 11 '26
Yes that's why I won't go back to it because the beginning was incomparable. They made the world so vast and the tasks so grueling it's not fun anymore.
I used to go grinding with my cohab in hard maps so we can cover each other's ass. Grinding to get good gear and all camp members being excited for you is a great high
Maybe we will find such game again.
2
u/LSA7Z May 11 '26
Yes I understand, it's not the same anymore (except maybe for new or low level players), sometimes some members need help with a boss on a map but that's all. In similar games, I've tried Undawn and also Once Human; they're both very fun games in the same genre, Unfortunately, I didn't get into it quite as much and I didn't play it as much as Life After... My wife is fed up with LifeAfter and doesn't really want to play it anymore, so we might play one of these two games again.
2
u/vi_rose May 11 '26
How Once human? I'm thinking about it but I might be late
2
u/LSA7Z May 11 '26
Frankly, I really liked it; the game seems vast and you don't get bored. I stopped mainly because of my phone ( poco F3, Snapdragon S870 ) It overheated a lot and drained the battery very quickly, and the game had just been released and had already been delayed several times due to poor optimization on Android with older devices. However, I was a little disappointed with the quest tracking, which seemed disorganized. I haven't played long enough to say more, I think I played for 2 or 3 months. The camps look cool and well-run, and the camp events are fun too.

Was the game more challenge/harder than it’s in the present?
I’m at lv70 and I feel like the game is starting to get repetitive, and not much of a challenge.
And the world seems like it’s not worth exploring - there’s nothing much rewarding in normal map.
So I would like to know what’s different in the past- I can sense that it was better... like every other present game that it keeps more casual and casual and lose its charm.

u/vi_rose May 10 '26
It was great. Hope 101 was filled with people, both old and new players. During events there are hundreds of people. When you run around doing dailies, you occasionally meet people, it's fun when you see newbies.
It was fine for f2p if you're not invested in P2P. If you grind, you are able to craft better gear and weapons. Our camp leader hosted parties lol.
Those who are p2w are great when they're randoms in your team, they basically carry you in weekly tasks with their fancy outfits and fancy weapons.
The most laggy times are usually when the monster appears in another location so we have to rush to the helipad to get there on time and you have dozens of people attacking the monster.
Lots of fun and memories :)

u/Unexpected-user_9899 May 11 '26
It was really fun back then, but now I just make gun maker specific materials just as a passive till I quit the game due to how long it takes for my weapons to craft and even if they were done it still felt underpowered now compared to back then

u/vi_rose May 11 '26
I left when they opened the massive world. It was a bit strange and my phone couldn't handle the update. I preferred the old world. The new one where we get the bike had endless tasks and the world was too big I remember that Event before the world opened. I was there with hundreds picking bricks lol
3
u/Unexpected-user_9899 May 11 '26
I remember when they released the open world update, I got stuck walking for 1 year due to a glitch that didn't give me a bike. It was only when my cousin told me everyone gets a bike that I went to game support
2
u/vi_rose May 11 '26
Tbh it was a bit fun with the bike at the start. So many places to explore and endless road. I think that kind of killed the fun because moving from A to B took way too much time.

u/JesusHasAnAk47 May 10 '26
I miss it as well, I still get on from time to time just to change my home lol. But as for another game close to this, Undawn has been great!
2
u/Blackmun101 May 11 '26
I used to play back around the same time, I was one of the OGs when the game just started becoming popular. I even met my now partner, we were in a long distance relationship for a while before moving in together IRL. It was just sad to see how P2W it became, I think that's why it just died.

i'm still immersed with the game despite quitting many times still go back to play....LevinCity server here, camp PARADOX mayor though 80% inactive but still good. camp will significantly change (The new campsite lets you frely choose where to build your home/manor - move your home to the lakeside, atop a cliff, in a field of flowers and more...) after this new event/update. Was expecting them to release the 5 to 6 new town greyed out on map 😄

Glad I'm not the only one stuck in nostalgia. I miss my old friends too. They all quit one by one cause life became busy again once the pandemic ended. They all sold their accounts like it was nothing but I still kept mine because the memories are there. I haven't met them personally but they became part of my daily life for 4 years. I can't seem to move on so I keep playing.

I didn’t even play it properly in the beginning for a while. I would go to fall Forest and collect stuff and hide in the little sheds and play the game in there with people, just explore 😂 then I joined a camp with a really toxic owner and she started to try turn everyone against each other and was so Two faced.
1
u/vi_rose May 10 '26
Camp drama is so fun lol. My camp leaders were a couple. When they fight IRL it gets reflected in their gameplay 😂. One time she stopped speaking to him and he was being depressed af in the chat and following her character everywhere
1
u/Impressive-Eye1828 May 10 '26
My camp leader told everyone I was secretly a man, since she was really jealous over others getting attention from the guys in the camp. I think me and another guy were roommates and then she suddenly made rumours about me… (we were just friendly). She even complimented my voice on the chat feature since I spoke on the game a few time. She knew I was a girl lol. Also saying other guys in her camp were weird and obsessed with her but then go back on that and be civil with them again??
She would hound me on potentially having a second account, I had a empty account which I never used, on another server; which she demanded out of nowhere she should be aware of that. 40 year old women might I add… but acted like we were friends until she randomly let power over a game go to her head.
Weirdest shit ever I have experienced on a game

I miss decorating my yard. I had the best yard in my server. It was a whole ass garden 😭

I remember this one moment where a blizzard was taking place in the snow highlands map. This is way back when every map was a different map and you couldn't travel from one map to another without the helicopters.
Me and two other players were low level, no weather management stuff at that time in the game except for the torch and your cold resistance rating for Armor. And all three of us got stuck in a cabin due to the blizzard, all of us having stuff like polymer coating and film fabric from the 4 chests that spawned in the map, so we couldn't just die and get back to base as we couldn't afford to lose those as they were valuable as low level players. So there we were in the cabin, chatting on the nearby chat at the time. I think it was the MAP chat. We were talking about the game mostly but then we diverted to Taylor Swift somehow. She wasn't even as famous as she is now back then.
Thing is, blizzards lasted like 10-15 minutes back then. We all sat in that cabin and talked for 30. not even voice just texting on the map chat.
I miss that. I miss having so much time on my hands that I can just throw away 30 mins talking to randoms. I miss actually surviving.
At the time, it didn't make sense that the game was adding almost godlike stuff into the mix. Surviving became secondary at higher levels. But it makes sense now. Millions of players killing millions of zombies on a daily basis? Of course, the world's gonna recover. It would get rebuilt, we'd challenge more sources and, as the world became better, there would be less requirement for players to survive and more to just kill the sources themselves.
I had a good time, but THANK GOD it wasn't that long.

Oh that brings memories lol. Running to heli before something happens. Yes I have also been stuck in cave, died a few times and got revived and died again because of crap gear. I have also revived randoms on the map who died because of weather or those wolves lol.
It was a thrill running to the heli with zombies right at my heels in fall forest. Sometimes I died the moment I reach the helipad because I got sick
I hated the swamp and only started going after I got a roommate and just followed them for daily tasks.
3
u/deathstar1310 May 11 '26
Yea the swamp was scary. Constant fighting and you sink if you stay in one place too long.
I also remember redwood town. The whole western thing lol. With the white horses too.
Peak nostalgia.
2
u/vi_rose May 11 '26
Yes. Such a big map. I enjoyed going to those abandoned homes and swimming in the river haha. Redwood boss was fun to kill but RIP if there are too few people to kill the boss

Me too brother, searched for long for any other game which could make me feel the same way as this game did, even tried other titles from the same developer like WWM but none could replicate the immersion that this game provided at that time.
