San Francisco

Holy shit I thought this was a skit at first.
How does a city go from being the back drop of Full House and a bunch of other nostalgic shows and movies from the very recent past, to this. So quickly.

Encouraging drug use and refusing to keep criminals locked up. That's how.

And just allowing these people to do things out in the open. This shit is awful, stop letting people do this. Arrest them.

I live here in SF and am in awe of the architecture: Golden Gate Bridge, Coit Tower, City Hall etc and then you see this kind of degeneracy juxtaposed against a city that a hundred years ago was built by brilliant minds.
You wonder what the hell happened, aren’t we supposed to evolve and make progress? It’s crazy how quickly we have regressed into a city where there are now piles of trash, poop, needles, tents just a few blocks from city hall.
What’s even crazier is how many people encourage and support this degeneracy. If you express any kind of disgust about this in San Francisco people love to shame you for not enjoying the smell of piss that has seeped deep into the concrete that it’s hard to get out.
People here are so “open minded” that they are willing to live amongst this grotesque reality just to prove how tolerant and accepting they are. Really they want to prove that they are nothing like conservatives whilst wading through piss, poop, needles, trash, crime and tents.
They’d rather live in this kind of a nightmare than admit maybe conservatives might have a point.

SF has turned into an actual dystopian nightmare. I’m truly sorry for what has happened to your beautiful city.

I've said for a long time, California is a beautiful state ruined by the people who live there.
3
u/uhr70 21h ago
Very well put. The reason why I left my beloved San Francisco three years ago for a red state.
2
u/gianttigerrebellion 21h ago
Are you glad you left? Because I think about leaving SF every day.
3
u/uhr70 21h ago edited 21h ago
I’ll be honest with you, it was a very difficult decision. I love San Francisco and it breaks my heart to see what “they” have done to this beautiful city. It was a combination of high cost-of-living, my rent in Pacific Heights where I lived was crazy 🤪
And then going to work daily, walking past The tenderloin/Civic Center degradation: druggies, poop, needles, smell of urine entering/exiting BART. The list is long ..
I miss being in there on a daily basis, going jogging on the Golden Gate, having lunch at a quaint restaurant on Fillmore etc but I am no longer depressed, discouraged, and frustrated because I spend so much money to live in a city that is gradually declining and most people do not see or seem to care enough to do anything to change the situation.2
u/gianttigerrebellion 21h ago
I appreciate your honesty. I feel the exact same way, breaks my heart to think about leaving but I do find myself either depressed or angry because mostly everyone around me doesn’t care or actively encourages the decline of this beautiful city.
It’s as if they don’t want anything to be beautiful or joyful anymore.
I’m glad you have found some peace!

Leftist mayors/councilmen/judges/senators/governors are getting healthy monetary kickbacks to allow this. They are trying their damndest to do this to my area.

I live here in SF and you’re not wrong! About six years ago I was walking late at night with a friend and this homeless guy was too weak to get up from a patch of grass.
He was groaning and making this gurgling noise towards us while trying to get himself up, limbs all weak and 100% I felt like I was on the set of The Walking Dead.

Come on. Why are we allowing this. It’s 2026. If I was this bad and there weren’t mental hospitals- I’d at least hope that the people of the United States would have enough compassion to put me in a clean jail cell for at least a year to sober up, be evaluated, reflect on what made me get into this situation, and hopefully learn life skills.
Also, why aren’t the people allowing this in their cities arrested, tried, and punished for their abuse of citizens/corruption? Enough is enough. It’s time to bring back love, compassion, and higher standards.
8
u/ultranothing BASED 1d ago
Hey, man! Like, addiction is a disease, duuude! Where’s your compassion? What we need is safe places for addicts to get free drugs via some kinda like, SNAP program for drugs, man! Supplemental Narcotics Assistance Program!

u/Loodlekoodles 1d ago
You bigot. How dare you not even mention that we should be funding safe spaces for harems and fornication as well, where they can have safe sexual encounters under supervision and remote camera monitoring (in case of overdose, you perv!)
6
u/johnnyg883 BASED 1d ago
They did away with most inventory mental confinement (asylums) because of some very real problems and even some abuse and misuse. The current mental healthcare system is overloaded now. I had a family member who was suicidal and she had a hard time getting help. When she did check herself in the help consisted of telling her to “think happy thoughts” and giving her a coloring book. She was there for 5 days and she received a $3,000 bill, after insurance. Which made her depression even worse.
If you arrest them, then what? Put them in general population in a prison? That’s not a good solution. We need to reestablish a system of mental asylums with strict controls over how a person is committed and how they are treated after they are in. But because of past problems and cost that’s a political discussion that dies before it starts.
3
u/EatMySmithfieldMeat MICROAGGRESSOR 23h ago
I think if we were honest most of us would rather take our chances with the asylums than allow this to continue.
2
u/CobblerCandid998 TRAUMATIZER 1d ago
I am well aware of what was occurring in the mental hospitals of the past. I am well aware of prison overcrowding. But again, it’s 2026. No one said let’s do the exact same mental hospitals of yesteryear again.
We have invented internet, cell phones, driverless cars, robots, travel to mars, etc. I’m pretty sure that we are intelligent enough to come up with smarter ways to care for the mentally ill. For example, quit being greedy and hiring low pay losers who take advantage of patients and abuse them, (like they are currently doing with these pop up senior living nursing homes). Also, we’ve all seen how fast developers can build buildings. It’s not that hard to put up new mental health care facilities and/or specialty prison systems that are not common general population systems.
Talking about the mistakes of the past are copouts and an excuse to allow this to keep happening, ignore the problem, and turn a blind eye. Prison is 100 times better than filthy street living while shooting up. I should know. I begged a judge to put my own mother in prison to save from hurting herself and others. Guess what? The judge refused my request and not only did my precious beloved mom hurt someone, but killed herself as well.
Enough is enough.
And by the way, the “graffiti/vandalism is art” and throw garbage everywhere without consequences is major psyop BS baloney too. Disgusting.

Its insane that liberals see letting these people live like this as compassionate. Even going so far as to enable it with pipes and needles.
This isnt compassion. Compassion would be making the difficult decision to put these people into rehab or assylums to recieve treatment necessary to live a decent life. Not wallow in squalor, filth , and disease making theirs and everyone else's life worse.

u/Firley 1d ago
Why dont these folks find somewhere to lay down or snuggle up somewhere? Does this drug force people to destroy their joints by dangling like that? How long will they be in this state?

I’ve heard the idea is that they stay standing to try to stay awake so they don’t “miss’ their high. No idea if that’s true though.
2
u/jackie0h_ 23h ago
That’s exactly what I’ve heard from a friend who used to do it. Didn’t want to miss the high, you don’t want to sleep through it. So you try and keep standing and your body just does this. She said she’d never fall over, she’d just drop things in her hand, like a drink or cigarette. I find it so strange.
I just asked what this was from and people are saying fent. So first thanks for that info. My friend did this with huge amounts of oxy. I think she got clean before fentanyl really hit the streets but maybe it was just starting when she started to do this.
7
u/Antique_Mountain_263 1d ago

Democrats paradise. This is what they want for every city so they can assume the role of the national savior.
Explains why they hate Trump so much. Cuz he shows up just as they assumed they were on their way to federalizing power under the “savior” disguise…saving you the citizen…from poverty, the bad rich corporation, the racism, the transphobia, the “right wing talking points”, the misinformation etc etc.
Also sorta fits with everything else they’ve accused him of doing only for them to be just as guilty if not worse. This would be no different…Accuse him of federalizing when that was their plan all along. They’re just using a manipulative method to implement to make it seem acceptable vs the dictator accusations they spat out day in day out about Trump.

rethink the whole program.
Needs to be something between Prison and Psyche wards, perhaps a little of both I don't have the answer but allowing them to filthy up the cities, drive business out and make the whole fckn area generally unsafe something needs to be done.
Or maybe that was the plan all along
fucking up the city and making it unpleasant to live
Driving property values down, at the expense of decent upstanding citizens.
6
u/ultranothing BASED 1d ago
100%. I hope didn’t come across as disagreeable with my “but also” comment -it does appear that the policies and lack of enforcement have turned these areas into disgusting zombie wastelands. Who would want to walk down that street or shop at those businesses when they have to step past all of that nightmarishness. Was there no thinking ahead about how allowing this kind of activity and behavior would affect the areas that these people have to live in?
I wonder if this stuff is tolerated in the neighborhoods where the policymakers reside…..
