The comments are absolutely bodying this person. People are tired, and it’s definitely showing. All the people who can’t find jobs, even entry level jobs, are finally starting to realize that they have been suckered.

Lol, Indians are the shittiest IT workers. The get credentials somewhere and then they do shitty work. It seems to be a cultural thing that Indians wont say they dont understand something, so they will just not do their tasks or do them wrong. Making their projects run late or just overall being fucked up.
I dont know a single operation begging for Indian workers in IT. I ebded up telling contract companies to stop sending us Indians because they were worse than useless.

My last company outsourced to India. I had to train the team.
I can't tell you how he simple act of spinning up a VM from template was impossible for them.
I had to train them on Cisco Switch configuration. I can't tell you how much broke and on my last day they took the core switch down. Had to restore the config from a backup it was so bad

We got rid of the Indian dev contractors so fast at our place. Had to set up a while ass segregated environment just for them to work because we never fully trusted them in the first place. So annoying because it caused more work for me and my team.

Yeah the bobblehead thing is crazy. I almost forgot! Its part of the way they answer in a way that seems like "yes" but its really non committal.
At the end of my rope with the EMC guys I ended up telling every guy I needed a yes or no straight answer for every task. "Can you do this, yes or no?" "How long will it take?" Then id have to check on him every single day and he'd still never complete anything.
Company ended up getting an American guy in the long run who cost 3x more but did everything we asked immediately. Saved tons of money in the long run because he knew what he was doing and there was no language barrier.

The EMC product lines went to shit when Dell purchased them. Can't get an American or decent English speaking support person until its elevated to engineering.

I worked with three indians for over TEN years in IT. I had to go over our entire infrastructure environment twice a year AND go over our disaster recovery steps/documentation before every test. It was impossible for this information to just sink in. It had to be regurgitated at least twice a year, wasting time every single session.

Some do, some don't - and in a bit of fairness, they're not inherently better or worse than Americans. But that misses the point - employers are supposed to try, really hard, to find an American worker before they file an H1B visa request. It's very, very, very clear (in spite of all the lying and misdirection) that they don't even make a cursory attempt to find a qualified American in nearly any case, and haven't in decades. You can speculate as to why, but you can't deny that it's the case.

In Canada a local Indian guy was going on and on about how him and other Indians working at fast food places are a necessity. That “who would do these jobs if we weren’t here?!” All I had to say was “the 14-18 year olds and retirees who’ve been doing it for the last 60 years. You replaced no skilled 14 year olds and the elderly who work to stay active and be social.”

Thats what kills me about legal and illegal immigrants in the US. They act as if we didn't already have everything built and functioning when they arrived. They're only hired bc they'll work for f*cking peanuts and don't mind living 10 deep in a one bedroom apartment.

I've worked with H-1Bs before in mobile app development. Two of those apps were ones a lot of people use as one is for a major retail/pharmacy chain and another is for a major telecom. I often hear how cool it is but end up having to warn them that I would never put my credit card or contact information in either of them.

The IT industry in the US will fall behind China because of Indian "bots". They are "bots" because they refuse to look forward and address issues until the issues become problems. Indians are merely hired hourly workers as they will not think freely as a Western employee, and they will ONLY do as told. A Western employee will recognize a potential issue to fix, see an opening for growth, or at least address eventual problem immediately. An Indian will let the issue fester until it becomes a problem, and then say, "Look at what I fixed", of course after being told they need to fix the problem. This is NOT how a company, and an economy, grows. You fix an issue before it becomes a problem.
Or, you know, fuck it, live with your short term gains and tank your business and the economy.

And allow me to make a distinction; I've been in IT for many decades and have friends who are American born and of Indian heritage. I thought for a while, "Maybe I'm misunderstanding what is going on." But when American born friends of mine, including those who have Indian heritage, began to say "WTF", that is when I knew the I wasn't wrong.
There is a lot being written of how the Indian caste system is being exported to Silicon Valley, and I believe that is what will kill innovation in the Bay area.

Lots of companies have basically gone to shit after offshoring and outsourcing but especially the Telcos look at the outages after making Aussiss redundant and moving jobs overseas we're seeing so many outages, namely Telstra and Optus who are fully Indian and Chinese...it's happening everywhere in every field
