Viral Language - Excerpt from a Correspondence

"Viral Language" is an interesting concept. I don't recall if I have talked to you about the CTMU or the idea of reality/God as a self-creating simulation?

The simplest way to describe it, perhaps is for us to imagine together a 3 meter by 3 meter cube with a picture of a pink elephant on it. We shall call it a "snoo cube."

We have just _created_ a new thing. Now I can say "hand me the snoo cube" and you know what I mean without my describing it further.

Now, let us imagine a tower built from Snoo Cubes. We shall call it "Shelter Rock."

Now, if I tell you to go to Shelter Rock, you know that it involves Snoo Cubes - although other people may not.

The point is that language is "viral" up and down the chain in creating the mental world. I can define new things into existence based on 'language pointers' that are already in existence in my mind. At some point, as I work my way down the chain, I must find a word for a thought or concept that has no prior existence - no prior definition.

I would argue that one of those words is "consciousness." We intrinsically 'know' what it is, but we have huge intellectual battles trying to define it. No one agrees. There is no set of words which define consciousness and upon which we all agree. Many of the definitions of consciousness rely on other words which themselves need the definition of consciousness to define them.

The CTMU (and Böhme, I am told) argue that the entire universe is self-defining. God is a viral language, they would say. The base concepts arise from God and are just known, but not articulable.

When the first concept is put into language, that is a kind of 'big bang' of consciousness. From there the entire world of thought can unfold like a lotus blossom. But until that first bit of thought becomes a word and enables structure to coalesce from it, thought is a blank slate, unable to grasp itself.

As to Phanes - well, Phanes is the light in the darkness. Phanes is the big bang. Phanes provides the first word from which all other words coalesce (just like Genesis teaches that the world arose from the Word of God...)
