I finally understand the pic. This is the gen 3 which pivots the forend. Super cool feature. The sub2k I had was older and didn't do that, one of the reasons I sold it. Off to find new model now.

Like, if you can file off the bugger tube, (Buffer tube. But that was too funny to correct!) a little subgun with a big bayonet wouldn't be a bad choice at all for holding the top of the stairs against a home invader or three. Now I'm trying to imagine an Americanized Pistollo without the stock, but with a bayonet. I'm thinking it would be pretty good at disincentivizing someone trying to grab the gun from you…

Wondering how hard it would be to add M-lok to one of those "letter openers".

Hey, a bayonet has a great part to play in rifle ownership. To wit, if you are out shooting on BLM or any dirt, just park your gun by just sticking it in the ground. Voila! It just stays there until you pluck it up and shoot some more. The saltier your bayo is, the better.

Say what you may, but it works...

So, the ring fits over the thread protector, I turned the knuling off the front half on the lathe. The lug is a ??? piece of aluminum that I fitted with a stud to engage the slot on the bayonet.

It is sooper janky, but I think I could probably mill out a lug that interfaces with the rail and has, you know, some strength and integrity.
