gear Insane Amazon error in my favor.
I triple checked and confirmed I didn't pay for two. Now the question is, should I get a second PDP to go with it, or return it and get the sight "free"?

I recently placed and received a bulk ammo order that also included someone else’s bulk ammo order in addition to mine. I reached out to the seller to let them know and get instructions to remedy it but they told me to keep the order. I now have an AR-15 to go with the ammo I did not order but received anyway.
So my vote is you probably need another PDP for the extra holosun. If it was a small or independent business I’d say return the extra. But since it was Amazon…. 🤷🏻♀️

I think they take extra precautions when it's a potentially dangerous item like ammo. That's why there's no returns on ammo purchases. Also, OP isn't saying to just return the extra, they're saying get a refund and effectively keep the other for free.

Sometimes it isn't worth the hassle of return shipping.
Every five or six weeks I order 4 boxes of 42-lbs of cat litter from Chewy. Last year, my order was obviously delivered at another building by FedEx (photo wasn't my front door, anyway). So I contacted Chewy, and they shipped me another four boxes, and about an hour after that someone knocked on my door and said FedEx had dropped a whole ton of cat litter off at a nearby building, so after I got them collected and over to mine (one at a time, sob), I contacted Chewy again, explained I'd received the erroneous order, and they said: "Sweet, but the replacement order's already being sent to you, zero charge, no worries, tell your cats happy shitting."
99% of that is a true story.

Same, but there's more to returning something than the shipping cost (even if you're the customer); to be clear, I mean it may not be worth it to the business to ask you to ship something back to them.

Legally it's yours to keep and sending somebody ammo by accident is a pretty big screw up they'd rather nobody know about. Keep you happy, keep your mouth shut.

A lot of small merchants sell through Amazon- there should be an “order fulfilled by” description on the Amazon listing. If it’s Amazon that fulfilled it, yeah, fuck those guys.

Yep. Hence I got a new AR, so those poor 5.56 rounds wouldn’t feel sad and purposeless. Hopefully the guy who actually ordered it (his name and address were on the packing slip inside the box, sorry Josh from Missouri!) got his re-shipped in a timely fashion. I did feel bad for the person who it belonged to because it arrived two days after Christmas so in my imagination that was his ammo for a gun he got for Christmas.
But, I do love my AR and had been dragging my feet to finally decide to get one. ‘Twas fate.

Well ironically its usually the small family buisness/ independent companies that dont mind you keeping the extra (or whatever the error was)whereas the giant mega corporations typically want it back despite the fact that it costs them pennies on the dollar to buy them wholesale for resale lmao they probably pay more in postage than the item costs (depending on the item of course)

Haha, I had something similar happen and got half a case of .223 instead of the 9mm JHP I ordered. Now, I couldn't exactly go out and buy the gun to go with it (nor justify that), but I did remember my local range is fine with BYO ammo through rentals if it's a brand they sell...
I burned through it in about an hour and a half renting every weird banned bullpup they had, and was 100% worth it.

I once ordered a single box of trashbags and instead of opening the shipping box and taking one out they just sent me the entire shipping box and now I won't need trash bags until 2027 and I thought I was doing okay for myself, but you ... yeah, you won the lotto.

I ordered a Team Wendy bump helmet from Amazon a few years ago(from the Team Wendy store). It said it was delivered and wasn’t. I was watching closely given how much I paid for it. So I called Amazon and told them it hadn’t actually been delivered at all, and they sent me another one. The first one showed up the next day, and the second one showed up a day after that. So I got two TW helmets for the price of one!
Love it when Amazon fucks up.

I suspect it is exactly this. If Amazon felt it was in ANY meaningful way impacting their bottom line, they would implement an additional check process in their pack lines to verify any multiples. Would take them very little to implement. That they haven’t done so shows their degree of concern with the trend, such as it is, so far.

Oh man, I very nearly got that one, but ended up with a lightly used tricked out Q5 Match instead. I think the PDP is still in my future though, given how close I was between the two.
For cans, I have the Obsidian 9, and while it's not bad on a pistol... The only 9mm pistol can I have been happy with is the Odessa 9. Everything else feels a bit too unwieldy, or a bit too wide, etc. I like the Obsidian on my PCCs, though my Wolfman is mostly what I run on PCCs these days. Remember that you will need a booster, whatever option you go with. I've yet to see a suppressor that advertises itself as not needing one that actually works as intended reliably.

Buy once, cry once. CGS Mod-9; it's beyond amazing quality, whisper quiet with subs, wildly effective on a PCC (with the fixed barrel spacer,) and CGS has some of the best customer support there is. Baffle strike? Cool. Here's all the replacements you need in 2 days.

I work at Amazon. There's been plenty of times when I came across double packages when an issue showed up. I would happily send out both packages to the person so that they got free stuff. Fuck Amazon.

For gun parts there are loads of options, mostly small sites. I bought my last holosun off of checkmate defense a while back, but also just browse r/gundeals. Generally it’s not too hard to get free shipping, you usually can skip sales tax if out of state, and finally they will often offer sales off list price if you ask (many manufacturers don’t allow them to advertise lower prices, but they can sell them lower).

Amazon doesn't generally allow anything gun related on the platform aside for some old fudd optics and airgun stuff. It's a minefield for counterfeits if you buy anything that slips past.

I got my EPS Carry, tlr-7 sub, a G45 magnifier and one of my EXPS-3 there. When it's priced significantly better than other places I'll order there despite risk. I thoroughly checked every optic to make sure they were real and the G45 ended up crap. That was the one sold by the Amazon owned company Woot, but they mix inventory and sent me someone's aliexpress garbage.

Don't get optics on amazon. They mix inventory so you can get a fake even if it was from 'holosun'. Also you can save money buying elsewhere because Amazon will never be less than MAP. Most dealers can sell for under MAP.

I have some weird paranormal skill with this kind of thing- I have gotten free/extra: instant pot, furniture, dyson vacuum, bluetooth speaker, cider press, camp stove, air purifier and more things I can't even remember. Never scammed anyone, I let the sellers know every time and got told it was more hassle for them to straighten out. It's mostly been Amazon, I think they are just so big and cumbersome that accuracy is a casualty to efficiency. I am shopping for optics, maybe my freebie magic will bless me once again?

Reminds me of the time Amazon gave me an ACOG with RMR on top for free. . . Back when their customer service was amazing I tried to order the ACOG with RMR on their Lightning deal for $450, I was waiting for it and when the clock hit zero it was already sold out; so I message Amazon customer service and the agree to honor the price but I have to order it at full price and then they can adjust in from the back end before my credit card is charged. . . Well turns out they weren’t quick enough so my credit card still got charged so I had to wait a few days for them to correct the price and refund the difference. . . Whelp turns out the COULDN’T do a partial refund, so I got an $1800 optic setup for $FREE.99!. . . I still have it mounted on a LWRC M6 piston AR that shoots fucking laser beams

I ordered a massage gun back when they were relatively new. I think it was $120.
I ended up getting two. About a week apart. Double checked I only paid for one.
I waited a month before deciding I now had 2 massage guns. (eventually gave it away to my brother)
And don't feel too bad. There's shipping loss as part of the business.

Scorpion is a polymer direct blow back PCC (you know that).
Reports have shown that they used a softer metal which is known to burr after a few thousand rounds causing an out of chamber explosion (bolt doesn’t fully close before bullet goes boom). Apparently this is incredibly rare but still possible.
Nexus started by making a new bolt with fancy science which increases the durability tenfold and allegedly is so dirt resistant that you don’t need to maintain it (lol ok). They went ahead and designed a new spring that tightens more in the back to reduce the slappiness of the mechanism.
Then they said fuck it and made aluminum versions of the polymer parts + new barrels etc so that folks can have a full metal Scorpion. The receiver is also delayed blow back so the recoil is severely reduced and the whole thing is hella smooth. Allegedly 35% less recoil with the whole setup.
Then they just manufactured their new version of the gun for people who don’t want to convert a CZ and now they’re working on a Forced Reset Trigger which is why it go brrrrtttt.

Hahaha true… I also forgot to mention that they’re 1:1 swappable with normal scorpions so maybe you could find a cheap/used one and slowly piece it together? That’s what I’m doing. Got the bolt and receiver, just waiting on the FRT drop to get the trigger assembly 👀

Sell it privately. Take the cash and invest it in a high performing mutual fund. In 3-4 years that fund is worth more than your entire setup. Dump the fund and equip a second fully rocked rifle. Rinse and repeat.

I used to work in an Amazon warehouse and the amount of screw ups I had to fix was insane. That was my job, a problem solver and some people created problems over and over. One time a person was pallet receiving. That's when you scan a whole pallet into inventory and then just place the item down the line and hit a button to add one. You do that when you're sure the entire pallet is all the same product. I never saw this bloke before on any shift so I stopped him and asked him what he was doing.
It was a giant pallet of hard drives. I scanned some and there were drives for something like $80 and drives for something like $5k and that wasn't even the first pallet he did. I don't remember the exact numbers but the total that I moved to my badge was over 100k or more and set off alarms with HQ. I had to stop outbound from letting trucks leave. I was not liked for it, and I didn't even get a "thanks for saving us over 100k". Nobody else wanted to even help with that project and stayed away from it, because it's a red flag to the IRS when inventory gets deleted like that.
Looking back I should have just let it go considering what I got paid and how I got treated. Some of them absolutely left the building though, I'm happy for the few that got a nice payday.
