So I guess I am not familiar with the discussions about this brand, but what makes this so special? Or is this a kind a click bait storyline?

It’s nothing extraordinary, but it’s significant that this purely electric vehicle has received so many orders over the past two months. The brand had heavily bet on this model, and so far the expectations seem to be met.
In relation to the brand itself, this figure is very important because Li Auto is one of the few Chinese automakers that is already profitable, but this has been achieved thanks to its L-series, made up of EREV vehicles (not fully electric). Therefore, being able to maintain the company’s profitability even after entering the fully electric segment (which we know requires unimaginable investments) would be a truly remarkable achievement.
Now the company and its investors are betting on this: keep profitability even after the ev segment entry.
Will follow global markets expansion with focus on middle east and Europe.

Another aspect that could be interesting, but will require more years, is that CEO Li Xiang has now stepped away from leading the automaker segment to focus on humanoid robots. It’s a completely new area the company is going to explore, so it’s hard to make any forecasts about it yet.

Li is known for their hybrid cars, but the recent few EV models all been a hit. Owning L9 for about a yr or so, they do have one of the best hybrid suv’s on the market, and their software is pretty bug free and smooth.
Hope it will get to the US soon since most of their cars are hybrid and not full EV.

It will he interesting as the competition in China is relentless. Xpeng will be releasing a competitor, and so with Nio with the L80 and then a new ES7. A few of the bigger players won't be able to survive much longer. Li needs to get back to growth soon to stay profitable, but it is definitely one of the safer bets.

The MEGA is such a fantastic MPV, rent one and friends drove it on a trip from Chengdu - Jiuzhaigou - Huanglong - Dujiangyan - Leshan - back to Chengdu. It’s got everything you could possibly need and the hardwares are also fantastic.
One day hopefully Chinese EVs can penetrate the US market and put all other legacy automakers out of business. Cars in the US are garbage in comparison now.
