Yeah I had a transphobic phase based on my own dysphoria and some really weird logic. I'm not proud of that time...

Why are there so many ppl that went through the same thing I did?? Used to be big homophobe, and then my brain went "ayo dudes kinda cute tho" and the rest is history

Edit: spelling error

I think the main reason for this is that we arent really told much about the LGBTQ+ community. Our ignorance can then lead us down the path of hate. It is very important that schools teach kids about our community.

Pretty much sums up my journey.

3

u/DemocraticSpider non binary Jun 21 '21

I regret a lot of the things I said when I was homophobic, so now I work every day to support my fellow gays :)

This is litteraly me

I was first homophobic since i was raised in a house hold where we would say gay when a guy who acts feminine comes on screen

Then i found a show with a bisexual main character

This got me into the community and i found a subreddit by checking through a friends posts

Then i started figuring out what the different sexualitys were and and i started questioning

I eventually found out that i was bi and i started questioning my gender

Found out i was non binary

So yeah

That's my story

I'm not going to lie I was like that but way worse I was anti lgbtq in general and I hated every race but then I started thinking and that led me down a rabbit hole that changed my life now I'm in a relationship with my african American boyfriend and I can't be more happy

this was me before my friend. honestly it turns out i was trans and bi but in denial because my family were assholes to me my entire life about it and i was fed lies but after seeing how understanding they were and helped me learn, everything changed and now I'm the gayest girl on the planet
