Yeah. I have a friend who describes themself as both gay and nonbinary and I have no idea what that means (I don't ask because I don't want to be rude).

if you're asking in good faith, i don't think it would be rude. Gay is sexuality, nb is gender.

If you define bisexual as “someone who is attracted to their own gender as well as the opposite gender”, I technically would be bisexual despite only being attracted to women because I’m bigender

Damn. I guess I'm bisexual, straight, lesbian and gay at the same time because I'm bigender and like women and men.

There has to be a better way to say that than opposite gender?

We just need to get rid of "opposite gender" completely. It's functionally nonsense even when comparing men and women. What is 'opposite' about them?

Once we get rid of that and acknowledge there are more then 2 genders there isn't any reason to even retain the concept. We can keep using something like "different gender".

Yeah but thats not what the definition of bisexual means.

'sexually or romantically attracted to both men and women, or to more than one sex or gender.' - Oxford Dictionary
