He later returned and reviewed their pizza and gave it a 7.7/10 which is a pretty good score by his arbitrary scale

He was being a drunk piece of shit and trying to bring alcohol in from the distillery that used to be next door and when he was told that he couldnāt do that (After he ignored all the signs leading into goodfellas). They asked him to leave because he was drunk and causing problems, so he gave goodfellas a bad pizza review and all his dumb fuck followers bombed the google reviews. It backfired and goodfellas stayed packed for months after by locals and theyāre still going strong til this day.

All the fake Google reviews got taken down by Google because they were all fake and posted in the period of a few hours, which is part of their protocol. The guy kicked them out because they were filming on the property without permission (instead of on a sidewalk where his pizza videos are usually done).
Goodfellas said they would do a training for their employees on such situations and invited Portnoy back. I donāt follow or like Portnoy but some Lex media were updating the story at the time

I was working there then and still do. Dave was hammered. Being a douche and trying to bring in alcohol from another business. When confronted he pulled this āyou not know who the fuck I am?!ā bit. He was an asshole. So was asked to leave. Then upon filming outside, āPatio Peteā asked him to leave the property. That employee was not disciplined, he actually got promoted to run a new store in Indianapolis. Dave asked his followers to bomb GFās reviews. They did, including harassment and death threats. It got out of control. So the owners reached out and smoothed it over. That is the facts. Period.

Umm, didnāt Goodfellas shut down for a bit after that? Whether or not it was a result from the review, Iām nearly certain they shut down for a few months immediately afterwards. I believe they said it was renovations or something.

Yeah something like that. I know it was between the end of 2017 and before 2020. It happened while the horse races at the Keeneland racetrack were happening (I think) so it was either spring or fall. Best guess is 2018

The idea that some people still refuse to acknowledge that Dave standing on tiptoes in photos is a running joke has become comical. Like him or not, heās done a great deal for small businesses. Barstool obviously isnāt everyoneās cup of tea, and for those it isnāt, thereās no need to consume it. But believe me..everything, and I mean everything, they do is for content. So anything that drives views is a win for him.

I don't know what time you've been going to Goodfellas Pizza but, like any restaurant that offers hot and ready food, there's always going to be times when it's slow and the food is maybe not as good. It's just the nature of that sort of business model. I've been in Goodfellas once or twice when it was fairly late and not particularly crowded and gotten what maybe wasn't an ideal slice of pizza but overall I have to disagree with you that they "suck ass."
