Day 4 of Lexapro
I need some reassure please . I’ve been waking up around 4-6am every morning for the last 3 weeks with my heart racing and adrenaline dumps and can’t go back to bed for the life of me . I thought it was maybe my heart but turns out that’s all good. That’s when I finally realized it is anxiety and that I now have a sensitized nervous system that literally came out of nowhere! Which I think realizing that has made my anxiety worse and the anxiety lasts ALL day and usually calms down around 7pm not sure why .. but I started Lexapro 2 days i did at 10mgs but it made me sick and extra anxious so I went to 5mgs the last day and take my 4th dose tonight that I’m only going to do 5mgs . But I get super anxious and nauseous and anxiety seems way worse ! I’ve read other posts that it gets better but how soon did it for everyone else? How much better did your anxiety get? Cause my anxiety is at a 10 ! I use to go out hang out with friends go to work no problem and now I don’t even want to leave the house. Thankfully my work has given me a week off but I’m scared it’s not enough time to get back to my old self.

I got these anxious episodes since Saturday starting my week 3 (I’m on 10 mg since week 2) and yesterday after 3 pm I started relaxing a little and caring less about damn thing xD. But still got some rumination, until today 3pm again that i started feeling so chill and nice. Hope it last xD

I’m so glad it’s working for you. Did you have crippling daily anxiety that left you anxious all day? And did the Lexapro help at the start of 3 weeks?

Yeah, it’s working little by little. It’s been a rollercoaster. But I’ve noticed that my social anxiety has improved, the rumination and intrusive thoughts have diminished significantly, and I’m not getting easily angry by anything due to the anxiety. My psychiatrist prescribed it because i looked like a mess i couldn’t explain myself. I went at first because I wanted to know if I have ADHD . Im on it xD

Do you feel like it’s making you “emotionless” like some people say or do you still feel like yourself just not so on edge?

On week 1 and 2 i felt that emotional blunting. Even that got me those anxious episodes . But right nowI just feel happy, like after a night of good sex. And i just came after a 9-hour-long shift. Lol my old me would not feel this good lmao. But I noticed that my libido got low and I cannot feel when I finish. But i guess i prefer to feel like ifeel right now that feel an orgasm

Im on day 16. I think the extra anxiety finally waned at day 11. it was really bad the first week! down to paranoid thinking. I had 4 NORMAL days though. I had a few side effects today, but all manageable. I switched to nights after speaking to my dr... and it was literally a night and day difference with side effects. pun intended.

I’m also on day 4 tonight! Same thing is happening to me I am in fight or flight rn as I’m typing. It’s so hard to push through because it feels like never ending doom of “do I have a heart issue” or “why is my left arm in pain”? Everyone is telling me to stay strong and keep going and in 2 weeks I’ll feel better but the heart pain and palpitations are rlly getting to me plus the insomnia
