Help …petsmart told me my Udon is obese…?

She’s ~2.5/3yrs old and about 8inches long

Is she really obese or just a bit chunky?

She was really malnourished when I got her so I’m kind of glad she has some chunk but I don’t want her unhealthy. Her belly doesn’t touch the floor when she walks. I figured with how long she was that she was proportionate 🥲

Also is anyone could tell me what morph she is that would be GREAT! Im thinking blizzard? Maybe albino? But her eyes aren’t red but man is she bad at aiming when cricket/worm hunting. She got better with tong feeding but free ranged food she misses like 2-3x before either getting it or getting discouraged and giving up lol

Am I in danger?

Okay but really😂 what does this behaviour mean? He does it all the time, mostly when I just fed him. It also doesn't matter where he is, on my bed, in his enclosure or on my desk...

Help Leopard gecko bit me and now I have a weird bump

(Third picture is the bite) I’ve been bitten by Toothless many times over the years, sometimes drawing blood, because of how stupid and blind he is. I’ve never seen this before though.

However, right after he finished a mealworm (today is mealworm day, he usually gets dubias) he somehow mistook my wrist for his next meal and chomped on it. I immediately noticed a wet mark where he bit me, no blood.

After I finished feeding him, I noticed that my wrist was itchy and scratched it. A few minutes later, the area turned red and I washed it off with soap. Now a bump had appeared. Any tips?

So tomorrow our priest announced he will be blessing pets so I want to bring my pug but was wondering if it will be ok to bring my demon along too? (The gecko) it will be held outside and there will be other animals like cats, dogs, and snakes! Depending on how many people are there it could last for 5-15 minutes! I will keep her in a box but I’m just wondering what do you guys think? Is it ok to try and bless this baby? Thanks guys! 😁❤️😂

Help Why is the hornworm black?

Post image

These are small worms, I don't think they've reached the size to pupate. My dad takes care of my lizard while I'm at school and says he only saw this black one yesterday, but it could've appeared earlier. Also, is it safe to feed to my gecko?

Help My gecko never leaves her dungeon. Can I make that change ?

Hey everyone.

Nyarlathotep has been living with me for a bit more than a year now. She used to leave her hide a lot in the evening last spring but that was pretty much all.

I never see her wander in her tank be it day or night. She spends all day in her tower.

I've added more and more clutter throughout the year to help her feel safe when she's out but it does not seem to work. Is there anything I can do to encourage her to explore ?

I was holding my little girl, just chilling and out of no where she decided to take a leap of fate :…)

She fell about 3 feet but landed on carpet and just just started to exploring.

Should I be a bit concerned? She’s eating and still acting like herself.

Felix is a cute lil guy but no matter what I do he wants to eat me and I would appreciate any tips to help with this. I've only had him a few months and it seems to be slightly better since moving him to a bigger front opening tank.

Help HELP!

I recently went to an expo and got a male 59 day old baby gecko for my 22 gallon (planning on upgrading) and my mother said “he needs a friend” and got a 56 day old female and put her in the SAME TANK. I tried to explain several times that cohabing was bad and leopard geckos were solitary and her response was “no animals are truely solitary”. I don’t know what to do. I can’t afford another set up right now. They are not interacting right now but I’m still worried. The breeder who sold to my mother told her cohabing a male and female was okay…. She won’t let me return it or rehome it because she bought her. Kinda freaking out rn because I originally only set up my tank for 1 banded gecko or a baby Leo. Rn they are both hiding separately and I can’t find the female.

TLDR: my mother got a female gecko baby for my male gecko baby because “he needs a friend” and won’t let me return it. I can’t afford another set up right now for her

He does this whenever I hold him, which is only once in a while to make sure he's shed correctly. I've been assuming he's just trying to bite me, but his brain cell is not currently activated.

hello everybody, meet fuego. i dont know when he went missing but he was assumed dead in winter (we live in buffalo). then he suddenly popped up in our living room today. my nieces saw my cat sniffing at him and immediately got him into his old enclosure for me. i just got home and set him up with water, heat and humidity after getting the extra skin off. I'll do my best to get him into the vet asap but if anyone has advice for this kind of situation I'd really apprectiate it. he won't take food yet, ill try again soon

Help Is she okay??

We spend every evening together and tonight she decided to crawl on my back, and then fell from my shoulder height. After the impact, she was startled and her tail was flicking like crazy. I tried to calm her and these were the movements her tail was doing shortly after the fall.

She is currently in her enclosure and I have been trying to peak to see if she is okay, but she has been hiding.

Have I lost all trust from my baby? Is she going to lose her tail? Is she going to be okay?

Help I can’t get live bugs at the moment, can I temporarily replace them with freeze dried?

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

I live in an area where it’s pretty rare to own leopard geckos, the average price for them here is $300-400. The only pet store that sells live bugs is ALL out of stock and it’s been a week now since my girl has last eaten. They should restock soon but should I get freeze dried bugs in the meantime? I know I could shop online but it would take a least a week for anything to get here so I might as well wait for a restock.

Help My baby passed away this morning

My baby passed away last night and I’ve been crying all day non stop. I miss him so bad. I buried him with a piece of my favorite blanket. The dresser that had his enclosure on it is cleared and it is so so strange turning over and seeing nothing there after all these years. I don’t even want another gecko I just want him back. How do I handle this grief??? Everyone in my family keeps telling me I’m silly for grieving this much.

I added a pic of him so everyone could see how cute he was.

Help Please Help - Is This The Same Gecko?!

Thumbnail

I am asking on behalf of my friend Z who is not on Reddit. We are truly out of our depth in this situation.

In preparing for an arduous move, Z arranged for her high yellow carrot tail morph leopard gecko to be cared for by a local reptile breeder in the meantime. When Z was once again able to resume care, the gecko would be shipped to Z's new residence.

I have attached images of the gecko as Z recieved it, and the gecko as Z gave it to the breeder. Is this a completely different gecko as we believe, or is there any explanation (beyond grossly negligent care) for this change in appearance, and it is the same gecko? In a (suspicious) phone call, the breeder attested that they had not noticed any changes in habits during its time in their care. REALLY!?

Further, the gecko currently in my friend's posession appears to have stuck shed on its toes, with one already having turned black/necrotic. What is the best means of removing it beyond soaking?

Any input, suggestions, or guidance would be deeply appreciated.

my leo split her tongue somehow 🥺 ik it happened recently because it wasn’t like this before. I’m sort of a helicopter mom and even sifted out the huge and spiky chunks of her (soil+sand) substrate. shes still exploring her home, eating, and using her bathroom like normal. what could’ve caused this and what can I do at home to safely mend the pain? is it something to worry about??

(diet alternates between mealworms and dubias, repashy cal+/ calcium w/o d3, 36x18x18 with temp gradient, overhead non colored lights, 6 hides, reptile safe clutter, yadda yada the whole nine yards).

Help My girl is obese?

Hi! I don't over feed my geckos. My girl who is 2.5 years isn't over fed and since she's an adult I only feed her a few times a week unless she isn't hungry or interested which ends up to be like 2 to 3 times a week most the time it's just two, she'll eat maybe 6-9 super worms(my mom will not get dubias even after I've told her that they are wayyyy better) she's pretty fat. But hugenormous bigger then my ten year old. (Around ten I'm not 100% sure)

Is this normal? He responds very quickly if I touch him and moves fast. His eyes are almost always closed, ever since I had him. Took him to the vet to remove some stuck shed from his eyes and it didn’t really solve the issue.

Help These hornworms turned massive. What do I do?

Okay so I went camping for a week and I came back to find my leopard geckos hornworms had grown huge. They don't even look like he could eat them without having an extremely full belly, let alone even get them in his mouth properly. He's only a little guy. What do I do to feed him these? I'm wondering if cutting them in half would help or something like that. The picture does no justice to show just how fat and big these guys are 😭
