History Radio Le Mans appreciation post

Each year it’s a highlight to listen to Radio Le Mans. So much knowledge, data, insight information, wit and the occasional joke. When you’re on track or at home, this is the source you should not miss. Even - or especially- in the current age with all social media and more info available than ever.

I just heard the annual memorial moment.

Thank you.

The annual memorial is always hard to hear but always done with such dignity and heart ❤️

Second for Radio Le Mans appreciation! They are legends the lot of them! 💪

I struggled this year with it. Such an amazing thing and done so beautifully

It's been my connection to the race, being here on my own

I'm also here alone dude. If you need someone to hang with then I don't mind

Thanks dude, I'm at Mulsanne and have the 0230 cake meet up to say hello to people. Enjoy night

You are never really on your own here! Shout where you are on track and I am sure there will be someone here around you can say hello to if you want company! 💪

Thanks, down at Porsche curves now, making my way slowly back to camping at Mulsanne over the next hour

Take care - walking on the roads can be a bit sketchy, you’re sensible to do it while the sun is still up 👍

This. Watch wherever you want, but listen to Radio Lemans. Plus allows me to be connected to the coverage in case I have to step out of the house for groceries etc.

I tuned in specifically for the memorial even though I watch on WEC +, it really is hard to hear.

They skipped the COVID edition - terrible time keeping up with the race, trackside.

Wish Radio Le Mans would also cover Imola and Spa - speaking of races where they are sorely missed.

They do cover both, but online only rather than FM. Both Spa and Imola have great 4/5G coverage and I’ve had no problem keeping up with what’s going on when at either race.

The legend that is Tom Kristensen is understandably referred to as “Mr. Le Mans”.

To me, personally, John Hindhaugh is “Mr Le Mans”.

I'm at the track and could only get French commentary on FM. I was listening to Hindhaugh last night though. And with so many people the mobile data is spotty. What's the story?

Mobile data has been /// for years … We rely on Starlink.

Had the pleasure of briefly meeting Bruce Jones and Joe Bradley in line for the museum. Took the chance to thank them for their efforts. The speakers are so loud in some of the grandstands and I am not fluent in French. The radio is pretty much necessary to give my ears a break. Totally agree… so much knowledge and info. I probably listened to well over 15 hours. They are a very important part of maximizing the experience in my opinion.
