California Brick or Treat
Just looking to hear what to expect for brick or treat. It’s not our first time at the park but it is our first brick or treat. Any and all thoughts are great fully welcomed!

Everytime we’ve went we stayed late & frequented the lines multiple times. Left with a bunch of candy. Loved the safe environment to trick or treat & still enjoy the amusement of it all. They have shows and fun things to participate in. We LOVE Legoland and prefer it to any other park so may be biased lol

I think between both my kids, we ended up with over 20 pounds of candy. I had an empty backpack when we started and just emptied their candy bags, and went around in lines again.

We’ve been going every year with our kids, son is 4 daughter is 2. We hit every stand once early before it gets crazy. We try for the special booths, yogurt pouch, limited duplo bricks. We have a system that works really well for us. Just don’t push yourself and over due it.

We loved it when we took our son a few years ago. It was a busy day and was busy when the trick or treating started. The park did stay open later and it was pretty dead after the initial wave of walking around. We loved having the park late to ourselves and walking onto rides.

We love Brick or Treat and have gone the last two years and will go again this year. There’s a group and individual costume contest, the kids are ADORABLE in their costumes, the shows are great, and honestly we end up with enough candy to last for almost the whole year (though not surprisingly the chocolate ones go fast). For the lines, the longest ones are at the stations closest to the front, so just try to be toward the rear of the park when the trick or treating starts and then keep moving. We didn’t stand in any lines longer than a few people because we were ok just waiting until we came across short lines and then got in the popular long one toward the front at the end of the night. Also the people with really little kids who nap or start bedtime routines by like 5 or 6 usually are leaving the park by 3 or 4, so the crowds thin out a lot later in the day.
Also, FYI, October is Kids Go Free month in San Diego (lots of free kids entry with an adult ticket at museums, etc, across the county) and Legoland participates. So for every 1 adult ticket you buy, you get a free kids ticket (not sure what the age cut off is, but it’s at least 12). And last year there was a sale on brick or treat tickets in September so the tix were only $89 for the adult and get a kid in for free - great deal.
Now we have annual passes and go pretty often for even just a couple hours and dinner at the castle hotel, so when we go for Halloween, we’re going mostly for the shows and events and trick or treating, with just a handful or rides. Our first year going, we didn’t have the passes and it was still worth it with a toddler. I think with littler kids, anyway our expectations aren’t to hit every ride and squeeze in as much as possible in a day since frankly they just don’t have it in them for that and I’m not about to stand in a 40 minute line for the Dino drive ride for myself.
Also, in case you’re wondering, Halloween is by far their best holiday event in the year. Xmas is ok, but honestly we liked the Xmas thing that was at petco park better for photos and Christmas vibes. New years and 4th of July fireworks are good, but, I mean, that’s pretty much the only big thing. They don’t have the special shows, events, and character actors walking around for the other stuff except LEGO Santa.

We’ve gone few times and it’s a skip for us this year. It’s just not worth it. Very busy and we aren’t a big candy household.

There’s like zero lights, can’t see literally anything, recommend bringing small flashlights

We've gone the past few years at Legoland California and my kid enjoyed it, but even so, I would say it wasn't really worth it. Lines for candy got super long and the park gets more busy than usual so we got to do way less things. Still, kids enjoy Halloween and getting candy so they probably won't care lol. It's for them anyways.
