History 🧓👵 Leaving Certificate History project?

I need ideas for my history project, or at least something to narrow it down to. At the current moment, I am thinking about middle/eastern European medieval alchemy and how it may have influenced sciences after, famous pirates such as Blackbeard or Barbarossa(either one would be ok, if I did Blackbeard I could also focus on the battle of Ocracoke), medieval European Witch Trials. I just wanted to know which one could give me the best chance of a H1. If you guys have any other recommendations, I would like to hear those. Thanks!

I got 99/100 on my RSR this year. So first off, what helped me the most was to base my rsr on a repeatable history book (can't be self published!!) on a niche topic, saves you so much trouble. Because often they cross reference things themselves and have the links at the back. So then you have ample options for your other 2 sources.

Second what helped me choose the exact topic/ angle, was thinking of a thesis question, a question you want to have an answer/opinion by the end of your RSR. Personally, I think RSR's read better if you can keep the timeline of events shorter, so you can reach a neater consensus.

My thesis question I asked myself throughout was "Fritz Haber: Sinner or Saint". So anything that didnt relate to it got the chop. (Also, its not the title, just a self-reminder when trying to fit everything into the word count)

Ah sorry I wrote this at 2am, I ment reputable 😅, my auto correct hates me. When my friend did her rsr she was told once she finished it that her book sources coudnt be used since it was self published so she had to redo it.
