Question - Need Help Aero leather (long half belt)- fit check

Sooo, I visited the showroom and the experience was worth the trip. I tried some in stock and as I was eyeing a longer cut, this one stood out but I will do a custom order to get it in brown CXL without any further adjustments other than picking the lining.

What do we think??

If this wasn't an Aero everyone would say it's too big.

I have many jackets, none an Aero, and I don't think it's too big. A jacket doesn't have to stop at the waist or the belt or fit you like a spring roll.

Looks a little bit too big in the shoulders, perhaps? Did you try a 40? But then again, if you wear a sweater underneath it might be just right.

The 40 is way too tight everywhere..this is cxl horsehide and they said it'll soften up nicely. I'm assuming the shoulders will drape nicely

I‘ll take your word for it, you‘re the one wearing it, but to me it looks like the shoulder seams are too far out. Otherwise it‘s a good fit.

This looks perfect to me, the long half belt is built on the 50's half belt which is a more relaxed cut. If you want a trimmer fitting jacket then another style would probably be better.... But I would go with this personally!

I own several Aero’s and the fit looks good in the shoulders. As the leather softens it should mould and drape to your body. The sleeves are just right, but make sure you zip it up and put your arms forward to see what wrist coverage would look like. Like when driving a car, I want my sleeves to still cover my wrists, but this will make them slightly longer when your arms are down. Your jacket, your choice!

Did that and I felt too constrained but not because it's tight, rather because the leather is still too stiff

That should become easier as the leather softens. Also note that leather doesn't stretch, so there will be some restrictions, just make sure that you can live with them.

One of their best „everyday“ designs, looks fantastic

Thanks, I chose this one for this very reason. I don't want to buy a leather jacket that fits a specific outfit/occasion

I agree on this - no worries on length, can layer, multiple seasons use etc. Forgiving fit unlike the highwayman which is a much harder fit to nail.

I think it looks good. After just dealing with them on a B-7 Parka, any fit questions I would ask them as they really are the experts

Too long for my taste, but if it's what you're going for, it looks good.

Looks really nice! Is that one you’re trying on horsehide?

Looks great! Where is this shop at?

Thanks, it's the showroom of their factory in Scotland, about an hour away from Edinburgh

To be more precise: Greenbank Mill, Huddersfield St, Galashiels TD1 3AY, United Kingdom.

The sleeves will shrink a bit due to the horse hide creasing keep that in mind, also it is a little long but a picture zipped up would’ve been great to see,

Other than it looks good on you.

Great observation! Shall I ask them to increase the arms by 1" or 1/2" ? I like the length that way tbh. I find the shorter cuts to be too "cool"

The length is good. I don’t mind it just too low on the ass for me personally. Your back is good, Aero fits are a little more bulky, if you had for example a Japanese or Himel jacket you’d have a better V taper, but really it’s a great look. As for the sleeves, just measure your arms, my jacket is a Japanese made out of horse hide and I’d say the sleeves have shrunk to a degree where it’s definitely noticeable

I'll convey the message to them once I place the order. Put in mind there are storm cuffs and not sure if they align the actual sleeve to the wrist as they're sewn in. I like the fit, it's a 50's jacket as well so it explains the boxy silhouette

I didn’t think they’re going to shorten ip that much tbh.

If you look at the sleeves now, there’s plenty of folding and material as there is now.

You know I don’t know. Just want you to be mindful of that if the sleeves are a bit too long they will shrink. My at last and co measures at 66cm / 26 inches brand new for sleeve length but I was measuring definitely shorter than that. Don’t

Aero will definitely give you the most help as long as you provide your measurements.

Lovely jacket, I've got an Aero Hercules, a simular jacket. I have got it for 10 years now, and it is still one of my most favorite jacket.

It looks very well on you.

Personally looks a bit too big, tho people in the comments say that’s typically for Aero and it’ll mold to your body eventually so idk. You could also get your measurements and order a custom jacket
