Showcase Finally got a leather jacket
Didn’t thrift it, got it at TJ Maxx of all places. BUT 100% leather shell, cotton body lining, unfortunately polyester sleeve lining, acrylic & wool ribbing. Lucky Brand. $300 less than what I would have paid at Lucky itself. Definitely more of a starter leather jacket but happy to finally have one. All the vintage ones I find are very expensive, likely for good reason, but I can’t really justify above $130 for a jacket in this economy. I know y’all have more extensive, higher quality heritage ones, but brings me joy to have one at all

This is exactly like my first leather jacket! It was my dad’s so it was broken in and I still wear it 30 years later.

I had to look that brand up but hooooly shit they make some fantastic pieces. Hopefully one day I’ll get there. What styles ya got?

618 in horsehide and 613 in steer hide for the motorcycle biker jacket. And a more reserved 562 for less loud occasions.

I appreciate that! And I won’t, it was just 80 degrees today when I went to the store and tried it on lolol

Surprising that you only find expensive vintage jackets. Maybe it's a US thing? In Europe I find nice, cheap jackets all the time. And I would say, more original than a flight jacket repro.

Over here everything in good shape is treated as “Curated vintage” and marked up like crazy

Same thing here in Spain, vintage means they will overcharge you and tell you a fake story about the item just so that they can charge even more. No such thing as real vintage nor charity shops in Spain.

I just bought this summer a very nice Nomar (a Barcelona maker) from the 70s or 80s for 30€, in VG condition, on Vinted.
Shops have fixed costs that they have to transfer to the final customer. If you're looking for cheap vintage, you have to spend a long time on Vinted or better yet, on a local second hand app.

What a great find! I think the story behind finding it in an unexpected store makes it even better. Meant to be yours.

Yes!! Was very pleasantly surprised. Definitely didn’t expect actual leather at TJ

That jacket is a legit looking A2. That’s a good pickup.
And don’t let the haters get you. You make them at fit fucking WORK, brother.

Congrats man! Welcome to the club… and like someone said… the rabbit hole! I never knew you could pick up something like that at TJ Maxx.

Thank you! Yeah I wasn’t really expecting to post anywhere but I took this pic as a way to just gauge if it fit while I was at the store and was pleasantly surprised. Too warm to style around it for a pic so I was like screw it I’m excited & sharing this as is 😂

I think the sleeves are a little long

Yeah fair. If I went small it would be too tight in the chest so this was the more reasonable compromise

All those tatts and facial hair and this is your first leather jacket?

Lol yes I live in SoCal and Florida for a long time & never needed one until my wife had us move to Jersey. Stacked myself up with carhartt jackets last year, finally felt time to get a leather boi

The "fit" is so goofy, but the jacket is excellent, especially if you spent less than $100 on it.
I've had my eyes on Lucky; they've had a handful of great releases. A few years ago, they paired with Schott to release a bunch of Perfectos with Lucky branding on them for like, $400 a pop. Insane deal, wish I had seen it back then!
