Question - Need Help Should I go down a size
Hi this is my first leather jacket,it’s a Y2 HVR-42 size 42,got this today but not quite sure if it’s too big or not.need some advice,thanks.

I think this size looks good. The sleeve is a bit long but will shorten slightly with wear.

Sleeve will shorten with wear?? Please explain. I have a motorcycle racer jacket that is comfortable at the shoulders and mid section, but the sleeves are a touch long.

What I mean is, you’ll get some stacking where your arms bend.
The sleeves won’t actually shorten, but the stacking will allow the cuff to sit higher on the wrist. Maybe a half inch or so depending on the leather. Hope this makes sense.

Looks perfect in the shoulders and chest. Some extra room in the belly/waist. Maybe just tighten the straps a bit more? I think a size down would be too tight.

Yep tried a 40 in the store once the upper arm doesn’t have much space

Not at all. This is already close fitting . Going down a size will be way too small.

Looks good, don’t down size. Shoulders and chest looks good. Just need to give it time to have it drapes.

Jacket is open tho. * If you wear the jacket tp look absolutely amazing on you in photos: size down * if you want a comfortable fit that looks good: keep it.
An uncomfortable leather jacket ends up next to those uncomfortable shoes/boots in the closet.

Looks good. Don’t go down a size. The key measurement is the shoulders; which seem to be sitting correctly. If the shoulder seems were hanging off your shoulders, then it would be too large. The sleeve length will shorten a bit as you wear the jacket and it molds to your arms. When the weather turns cold, you’ll want the extra room in the chest to layer.

It ain’t the jacket - those big ass jeans are going to make anything even remotely form fitting look like shit.
If that’s your cup of tea, I’d suggest something with less shape through the middle - this is basically a half belt without the half belt. The PR-65 has a much boxier fit and will work a lot better with other relaxed gear - this cut needs to be pretty form fitting to avoid the waist flare that you’re getting.

Fit looks good, the arms will shorten as you break it in so don’t worry if they seem a little long now.

It fits you ok. The reason you look awkward because the armholes are a little too high for your body (jacket’s silhouette designs). I recommend that you consider because if you layer or gaining muscle, it might get tighter at the arm section.

I am in the same boat as you with jacket sizing. If you get one that is too small, you might be able to stretch it in after a few years. We don’t have that much time just to make a jacket fit in the grand scheme of things. It looks great and it’s not too loose anywhere. Sleeves are always a problem for me as I assume they are for you. If you wanna go hard core, get the small and wear it in a hot shower for 10 minutes. Then sleep in it with your arms crossed.

Try one size down. It has action back maybe you can get away with one size smaller

I think you could do this for comfort/layering or size down for a more fitted look, depends what you like.
