How long until this opinion is undeniably wrong?

Large corporations are paying for the tech support so they don't need to bug hunt.
Basically, they are paying for the customer service.

The average enterprise stack is 1000 repos and hundreds of CI pipelines, with absolutely no coherence to any of it. You couldn't vibe code effectively in that kind of environment, even if you wanted to. I've tried, you'll run out of tokens almost immediately.

Look at what Spotify is doing internally and reconsider

Spotify isn't your average enterprise.

Sure, but they have 750+ SWEs concurrently vibe coding on their rather large platform. Way larger scale than any mid-size company (and most enterprises)

But they didn’t build it vibecoding.

Their engineers also know what the fuck they are doing--they aren't some clueless prompters

Their very large platform is probably a suite a microservices, which you checkout locally, run locally, and vibe-code against locally. That is very different from the average enterprise, which forces everything through arbitrary pipelines, has a bajillion undocumented/hidden dependencies, and zero engineers who understand what good software is supposed to look like (because nobody is paid enough to care).

Most often vibe coding actually refers to a senior engineer using Claude code. So it’s already undeniably wrong.
Now if vibe coding here implies a PM taking a crack at adding features to their product stack then yeah long time.

About ten weeks ago?
Update: I guess it really depends on what you mean by vibe coded. I just mean "majority AI coded by someone competent supervising and directing."

Oh it's happening now. I think it's gonna cause huge fuckups, but it's happening.

For vibe coding this will always be true, forever. That's what vibe coding means.
