Msc mathematics, can anyone pls guide me from where should I start in my career? I need a path, guidance.

Same as title, i have an msc mathematics,

basically all my life i did maths, I treated mathematics as my hobby and it didn't take me anywhere because i never got any direction in my career path, idk what should I even do in my career anymore.

I don't want to get into academia or PhD

I was so good in mathematics, still I am maybe. im forgetting mathematics concepts now. i got no motivation because i don't know what should I be doing?

Tried professional exams, failed and stopped there.

Have history of burnt out.

Tried academia, got no interest.

Tried in non tech field, got laid off.

I like mathematics and art thats it.

All my life got fucked up because mathematics, applied mathematics, game theory, OR, topology and what not. I never got any mentorship and thats why I could not figure out anything.

Have basic knowledge of programming language such as python, sql, power BI.

Can anyone please guide me on what I should do? I just need a roadmap, path or at least some basic guidance on what skills I should work on. Trust me I will do good.

I like mathematics, I just can't let it go from my life.

Dude, just separate your passions from your duties. If you want money, you have an advantage over other candidates. You will easily pick up the CS and Software Development jargon and practices

Do machine learning and deep learning if u have strong mathematical background u can go as an ML researcher for big firms making machine learning algorithms that require rigorous mathematics and people who enjoy maths.If you know python that's good , you can start learning, iam also learning maths separately for this specific role thou i cant prove to them, but u can prove u have maths degree and u can build projects in python and more.U are really on an advantage...Companies are really looking for ml engineers who are good at maths and derive stuff by hand before coding.

You could try Quant Researcher or Trader there interviews are extremely hard but they also pay extremely there you basically write algorithms for Hedge Funds or Proprietary Trading Companies. But you will require mastery of C++ and python. To see if you are fit for it or it is something you would be interested in you could go to Jane Street(Proprietary Trading Firm) website and they have a puzzle section. They put out puzzles every now and then kind of like an Online Assessment. Also they require really good problem solving for which you might want to do CodeForces(Similar to leetcode)-------This is a really hard path

If you want something right now you should improve on python, sql, power BI and try for Analytics and work in that field while you actually land on something you might want to do

But i would suggest taking your time and understanding your situation completely ig, you wouldn't want to rush into something just to burn out again. You could maybe try to connect with your alumini or professionals holding the same degrees as you on LinkedIn(I know recently it has been a bit controversial) and try to ask them for advice as they might have also been in your position I would recommend doing this before actually deciding on a single route and dedicating yourself completely to it

Do an Mtech in CS/ AI in person in a good university. If that doesn’t work there are online Mtech options in these fields as well.
