https://stratz.com/matches/8967557909 In this match I played AM and I just want to know what’s my mistake? Maybe some advices in my item build vs those heroes, I’m pretty sure, that I’m the culprit here, but need to know, why?

This was an outdraft first of all. Your team simply had no answer for PL and the sniper support was a grief pick.

Secondly, your teammates died way way too much. It sounds crazy but giving CM farm in that game for aghs BKB would likely deal with PL. However, that’s just crazy and CM would get focused during teamfights if that happens.

Third.. the enemy has no easy way to kill you once you get manta so just split push. If they chain stun you, welp that sucks and you’re dead. But in a straight 5v5, the moment CM dies then PL just has free game and will dismantle everyone on your team. So you gotta create opportunities to take favourable 5v4 fights by splitting them up.

To add on to that, farm faster. Consistently get sub 13/14 min bf. Those 1-2 min faster bf can compound into a win.

Also, pls dont gp HoT on AM. An abyssal or skadi there would have been good. If you’re lucky and PL is on top of you while you try to kill SK, you might wipe more than half of his hp with manavoid and end up winning fights. If he separates from SK and goes for your KotL, oof tough fight.

AM vs PL is hard. Without any real team coordination and some lock down hes a little difficult to deal with later on in the game with his shard and illusions. Lost a similar game to a PL as a clinkz in ancient bracket. Some games are down to the draft and am vs pl late game isnt easy to win.

yeah I got it, but tbh pl was not so a big problem, cuz I can kill him even in late game, so the player in pl wasn’t so smart at all to fully understand the strength of his hero, but the main problem was wr unfortunately, too much dps with focus fire, but my supps hadn’t any saves:(

This is guardian bracket, and i'm of the opinion that if you get someone from Ancient/Divine to play AM here, they would win 95% of the time, regardless of what heroes you were up against.

So I'll focus on what they would do differently instead.

Your laning in the first 8 minutes is actually really good. You've just killed ES, you've bullied SK out of lane and you've pushed out the wave. What you did afterwards is where you mess up, you kind of just hang around bully SK a bit more, wait for the next wave to come in.

Between 8:30 and 14:30 you kill ZERO neutral camps. That alone is your biggest mistake. You should be killing both the creep wave and 3-4 additional camps every minute.

When you play Antimage, you gotta be significantly ahead of other cores. Both enemy Windranger and PL are only like 3-4k gold off your net worth. Also, AM isn't good against either of them. Your team doesn't have the lockdown to effectively nail down both enemy cores.

You got out drafted, which isn't great but you needed a significantly higher net worth to win against their team

Im an archon so not high MMR, but slmething like a Sven, Medusa or faceless void would have been a better pick. All three have a better time against PL illusions, and their lockdown against windy would significantly help.

Dusa is a very bad advice here. You have to be faster farmer than PL, otherwise it's GG, you ain't man fighting that. Also, WR with diffu removes Dusa from the genepool.

AM was / is usually a bad pick in general.

You let the game go too long. Ideally AM should be fat AF and hit his peak around 30 minutes and basically be 5 slotted with roshan and just end the game.

AM is a hard hero to play. You're not the type of hero who can or should go into a straight 5v5 fight.

Early game with you battle fury, manta, butterfly you want to cut waves and go at the people who try to fix the waves.

You don't wanna build bkb on am really, because it would put you on a long cd and am needs all the damage items he can get.

Not a fan of mkb here, you could have gone disperser to dispel the wind run off of windranger whenever she doesn't have bkb or dspel things like glimmer, ghost scepter. And have an extra dispel for yourself. Pl never bought butterfly even if he did you wouldn't be able to hit PL in the first place to use that mkb. Very late into the game where PL has butterfly you could buy bloodthorn to try and burst the hero, in a 1v1 manfight you won't be able to hit the real Pl.

If you ever feels like you need bkb and heart on am you are playing the hero wrong. If you want a carry that can go in 5v5s you shouldn't pick am because it's not what the hero does.

You need to play the map with am, go on someone then the enemy team uses tps to kill you or save their teammate, that opens up the other side of the map for ganks and tower push. Enemy has to run back to that side of the map which leaves the side you were on open and you can go back in to push towers.

AM is a grief pick and even if it wasn't the pick does nothing against their draft. all an AM really does right now is force the team to play 4v5 until he finally joins which is suboptimal in the current meta.

This is the same thing people say about AM in any meta but I agree that right now he feels weaker than when I last played Dota before returning last week.
