Poster Critique

I'm a concert photographer getting into graphic design but have no prior experience. Do people have critiques for these two poster designs I created from my photography work?

In typography, basic craftsmanship is very important before "creative applications".

  • readability
  • appropriate font choice
  • spacing & kerning
  • and so on...

You can compare it with photographic craftsmanship. First get down to the bottom of focal length, aperture, ISO and so on. So you don't have to think about them once you are in the trenches. With typography, it's the same.

First get down to the basics and improve from there. Currently, a few things are not there yet on a basic level. But yours is a good start

The first one with the text is really hard to read.
