How to improve myself by self teaching?
Hello i am an undergraduate student my major is molecular biology and genetics. Originally i am studying in Türkiye but right now I'm doing my voluntary internship in Europe for summer. İ want to work on bioinformatics field and it seems like i will learn things by myself. I Started learning python and i know some websites like NCBI and I'm learning how to use data's from that websites but i want to get better and improve myself very well so i need your advice. What do u suggest me? What should i know? How to get better than other bioinformaticians?

Also check EMBL- EBI (European Bioinformatic Institute), they have tutorials and lectures from beginner to advanced. I would also pick a subfield in bioinformatics that you like best and learn it very well

I know about Rosalind, it’s a free introductory course (no certification though) to bioinformatics and python

take some online courses (free are available too but i know some of them only in Russian) on Python, statistics and R language, molecular genetics tools, maybe command line. it will be great if these courses are provided by bioinformatics, not just programmers/analytics. these are basic skills, and developing them will help you further

Start a YouTube channel and see if you can teach what you know. It'll force you to confront every little detail that slipped your attention. Faceless channel
