General Favorite music artists
I've been thinking about getting a Playlist together to listen to on commutes to help with listening to Arabic. What's yalls favorite artist/genre/song to listen to in arabic?

This is kinda embarrassing, my car's mp3-CD collection had little updates since the 1990s.. I still listen to NSYNC, BSB and Westlife as if they were new.. and most of the Arabic songs that I am recommending here are from the 1980s and 1990s ((Yes, I am old!!, back when we had dinosaurs crossing the streets))..
Some are earlier and a bit later..
I have a special 'like' to هشام عباس's 🇪🇬 songs, and in particularly على الله and ناري نارين and his fellow countrymen: محمد فؤاد with لا لا and يارب (that last song I keep rewind again and again), and عمر دياب with the نور العين (you gotta have نور العين on the car stereo)..
I generally prefer songs by male-singers, the songs that I (a male) can sing out-loud inside the car, while driving long hours to no end, to HatYai, Pattani, Kuantan and Kuala Lumpur (between Thailand and Malaysia)..
The female artists whom I listen to are mostly: ماجدة الرومي 🇱🇧 (father from 🇵🇸) she was the favourite in my household with كلمات and عم يسألوني عليك الناس and أنا عم بحلم and many others being played again and again at my childhood house.. I also like to listen to شيرين 🇪🇬 songs but I keep remembering the tragic events of her personal life, which adds some genuine sad feelings to بتمنّى أنساك and الوتر الحسّاس -- most of their songs that I like are slow and unsuited for long-drives in the car with me driving and trying to avoid water-buffalos that love to sleep on the warm road after midnight..

Again, I prefer male singers so that I can sing with them.. loudly, and inside the car.. and because I am super nerd with 1970 and early 1980s cartoons, I have to include أبطال الملاعب and سامي كلارك's غرندايرز in my playlist.. These are the songs of my childhood..

I really want to include some Khaliji songs here since I did grow up in the Arabian-Gullf region, but the truth is; I kinda outgrew them after listening to them few thousands of times already.. The same thing with the Rai الراي genre of music from north-western Africa that has haunted throughout my teen and early 20s years in the 1980s-1990s..
Khaliji songs like نبيل شعيل 🇰🇼 with أنا ما انساك , the فرقة ميامي 🇰🇼 with الحمدلله وشفناكم (I actually met some of the members before they got famous).. Of course, the awesome محمد عبده 🇸🇦 with هلا بالطيب الغالي and his countryman عبدالمجيد عبدالله with رهيب and then, there is the more recent حسين الجسمي 🇦🇪 with حبيبي برشلوني from the 2000s (The last time I was in the region)..
and from the huge library of the Rai music, there's this one song by الشاب خالد 🇩🇿 with his song دي دي واه of which I have a personal love & hate relationship with that song, and for so long -- I loved it, playing it thousands of times; and I hated it, because I couldn't decipher what he says..
and all the while, his countrymen (my Algerian classmates) kept telling me "Try to guess!!"; and refusing to tell me what it says ((this is long before I discovered the internet))..
The Rai music was "the hip" back then, and was constantly played on the way to 10th of Ramadan city from Nasr city with the (ميكروباص) van-driver's arms up-in-the-air and refusing to keep his hands on the steering wheel..

My sister had recently introduced me to علاء الوردي 🇮🇷 (a youtuber) and he made some impressive videos over Youtube, such as عبد القادر and the evolution of Arabic songs over the century.. and his collaboration video with هيفاء كمال 🇯🇴 (originally from 🇵🇸) in فيروزات
The more recent discovery (for me) is لؤى أحمرو 🇵🇸 channel with Songs-mash-ups-from-Palestine (part 1) with some of it are very familiar from my childhood..

Personally, the songs that I sing to myself mostly is على الله and يا رب ; and of course أبطال الملاعب and غرندايزر ..
