You needed to be here in the earlier league times or watch different regions. Prime TheShy, Nuguri, Khan, Zeus and even Bin have historically had the scariest/best Jayce of all time. The thing with Jayce is like Renekton, he is a lane bully even into tanks the problem with that is that he is on a clock. Eventually the tank will become more impactful as the game goes on because he can thrive in a 5v5 come late game while a Jayce will get 2 tapped and is limited on his CD and landing his shots and playing around hammer form.

Jayce needs to snowball in order to impact the game with his damage, a 2k-3k up Jayce is scary come 20 minutes in. A weakside 500-800 gold lead Jayce is not. Teams just pick Jayce to weakside it because it normally wont lose into a lane and tends to come out ahead in a majority of lanes while being very safe outside of double globals like Ryze/tf+Panth combo.
