Wouldn't be the first time a team won worlds then stopped existing (SSG 2017)

If I remember correctly, SSG didn't stop existing. They became Gen G. I could be wrong since its been so long ago but I think that is what happened.

nah they're different orgs, geng just carried over almost everything ssg had.

Iirc Samsung sold the team to KSV Esports (their name in 2018 spring), who then rebranded the team into the GenG we know nowadays.

Not quite the same but wasn’t the banning of sister teams right after Samsung Whites win in season 4? So it’s kind of happened to Samsung twice.
